Leaving the Shuttle Undocked

By j_man_04, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So, I'm going into a tournament this weekend. I'm running a Ghost, Shuttle, and Norra list. I was thinking there might be some matchups that would help for me to have three ships on the table. I could use the shuttle as a blocker, say, to keep Miranda from SLAMing. Any thoughts?

Adapt and overcome. Ghost/Phantom is flexible. If you think a tactic gives you an advantage, then use it.

Unless, of course, it is the proper way to win. In which case, do what the show does, and split the team into as many little pieces as you can!

I was doing some practice tonight, and there's one issue I kept running into: trying to double-tap when I can't. Trying to use the rear-arc when I can't. It's just a big mental adjustment.

I tried to block Rey with the shuttle, and misjudged by a millimeter. So it got one-shotted. I may adjust by keeping it docked and shoot it out at a convenient time. Good thing is, I got the rest of the week to work on it.

Miranda is probably one of the matchups where you really want your flimsy Attack Shuttle protected by a large base and shitloads of HP. I've never played a Ghost myself, but I'd say always start docked, but one of the key to winning close matches is to know when to come out. I play quite a lot of Omega Leader, and when a Stealth Device Omega Leader has a TL and full mods, my friends Heragator with TLT and Accuracy Correctors can't do anything to it. To win you need to known which turn to dock and deal some serious damage.
