Embracing a Post-Lifeboat World

By TaeSWXW, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Okay, so I've got some rebuilding to do and put together another MSU that fits my play style. I've reached the extent of my theory-crafting abilities and would appreciate any constructive criticism:

Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points: 385/400

Commander: General Madine

Assault Objective: Blockade Run
Defense Objective: Fleet Ambush
Navigation Objective: Salvage Run

[ flagship ] MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63 points)
- General Madine ( 30 points)
- Admonition ( 8 points)
- Lando Calrissian ( 4 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Advanced Projectors ( 6 points)
- H9 Turbolasers ( 8 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 128 total ship cost

MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63 points)
- Skilled First Officer ( 1 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Advanced Projectors ( 6 points)
- H9 Turbolasers ( 8 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 87 total ship cost

GR-75 Medium Transports (18 points)
- Quantum Storm ( 1 points)
- Slicer Tools ( 7 points)
= 26 total ship cost

GR-75 Medium Transports (18 points)
- Slicer Tools ( 7 points)
= 25 total ship cost

GR-75 Medium Transports (18 points)
- Bright Hope ( 2 points)
= 20 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Intel Officer ( 7 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 66 total ship cost

1 Shara Bey ( 17 points)
1 Tycho Celchu ( 16 points)

-------------------------

Objectives:

- Blockade Run - I did this for the first time recently and now I wonder where it's been my whole life. I love it. For a list like this I think it's an easy choice.

- Fleet Ambush - I have mixed opinions but if it means I can threaten more of my opponents ships more quickly it's worth it. As an additional benefit it forces them to deploy squadrons last which keeps my deployment advantage.

- Salvage Run - Again, for this list an easy choice. I can send in the no-title Slicer Tool'ed GR-75 to sweep up tokens.

Ships:

- I could probably squeeze in Foresight and Derlin but I don't think I'm getting much from that combo with Madine. No title, SFO, and Advanced Projectors still leaves this ship plenty durable and capable of reacting quickly.

- GR-75's - I don't have a lot of experience with Slicer Tools but I'm thinking that free of ferrying my Commander or pushing squadrons they can help balance the playing field by removing Squadron Commands. Quantum Storm will be diving into the frey, Bright Hope will be hanging back and commanding squadrons, and the title-less ship will be a flex.

- Super TRC90 - Well I can't get TRC's on both arcs so might as well pair it with another hard hitting once-per-turn card: Intel Officer. This ship should do well to take down shields before the MC30's hit or to finish up ships that the MC30's softened up.

Squadrons:

- I've got a variation of this list where I drop either the 90 or a GR-75 to pick up Wedge, Dutch, and Hera.

Put Madine on the TRC90 and get Jaina's Light on it. You should be able to avoid everything or sit on an obstacle if you need extra defense.

[ flagship ] CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- General Madine ( 30 points)
- Jainas Light ( 2 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- Reinforced Blast Doors ( 5 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 96 total ship cost

So dropping the Intel Officer for Jainas Light and RBDs (for when I inevitably screw up and allow someone to put damage on the ship) keeps everything cost neutral. I guess this would allow me to be more aggressive with Admonition. Perhaps just keep Admo between enemies and Jaina's light. Use the title-less MC30 as a trailer?

I agree with Madine on Jaina's. That's a solid ship and a good place for it. The MC30s are just too exposed for where they want to go. The rest of the list looks tactically solid.

why not cracken?

Or Mon Mothma?

Because I value mobility above all else. A four-yaw-click MC30 is a sight to see.

Speed 3+movement dial, there you go ;-)

I prefer sitting in an isd-s side arc, red range, and evading that Single red dice while trc-ing the hell out of it:)
