Got any of the ghost?

i can't really see this being an epic ship, even if the size is close...

my ideas are that it is either an imperial Brobot or a scum Decimator/Ghost

I'll look for a Ghost ortho... I don't own one though, do you know the scale/length??

No I don't sadly :(, but when it's like this it seems closer to the Falcon than to the transport at least IMHO

That's because it's scaled down like the transport. The first comparison shows it the same scale as the Falcon. If they made it the same scale as the transport it will be smaller than the Falcon scale. The bigger the number the smaller the scale.

Assuming Ghost and Falcon are the same scale...

I think it could fit on a large base, if FFG outdid themselves and made the wings spin about the body.

FFG could slant the stand or have moveable wings (sorta like the Fang fighter should have or the Striker?) that way it could fit more easily with less overhang, alternatively they just give us an Epic ship stand for height or a new stand altogether like the guest came with (but a better one) or they could just do it normally, either way I think itll be a large base ship or possibly scaled down slightly...

If it comes in as an Epic I'm expecting that they'll rotate the wings and have it mounted with the wings vertical, or it just won't fit in the normal shape of the game. And even then, it owuldn't fit well in a box...

I am kind of tempted to try to scratchbuild one though...

Oh, well... that's a really big ship. Too big for large ship, too sleek/agile for Epic ship. :(

Plus it's basically just an upscaled Protectorate. Which itself was just a Scyk flying backwards.

So... yeah.

The Gozanti comes in at 63.8m and the Ghost at 43.9m; the Ghost is already pushing well past what is comfortable on the large base.

At 52.3m, I think it would have to be on a single card huge base.

Less likely option, introduce another size for the Kom'rk, VCX-100, and VT-49.

They'll probably just scale it down so its the same size of the ghost.

That ship kinda makes no sense with huge mechanics.

And that is the smaller version of the ship, the larger version comes in at 68.1m, actually longer than a Gozanti cruiser.

Scaling something like that down to the VCX-100 size would be going the wrong direction, imo.

It makes no sense full stop. It literally just looks like a scaled up fighter with little to no thought about the actual internal workings of the ship. And as for how the wings are connected to the hull... ermagahd.

Since when did starwars pay attention to physics?

Technically not a single ship should be functioning in space with only rear thrustors

There's a difference between "defies the laws of physics" and "shows zero design logic consistent with the universe it's based in". The Falcon, Ghost and GR-75 actually look like they're used to transport goods and or people. The Kom'kr - as mentioned above - just looks like someone's upscaled a snubfighter for no other reason than because they can.

I shall from now on assume it's simply a Protectorate designed to be piloted by a giant. Because everyone knows Mandalorians get bigger every time they're in a battle.

exactly my thoughts. Looks like a protectorate - just bigger. Makes just no sense...

For what it's worth, the Kom'kr came first (Clone Wars). So technically, the Protectorate is just a downscaled version of the Kom'kr, not the opposite.

half the player base of x-wing, myself included, only play the game because of the gorgeous models. FFG attempts(with mixed success) to mantain scale so the miniatures look amazing on the table together, but also because collectors purchase ships as scale models. If a ship suddenly appeared in game at 25% of its correct size, personally i'd stop buying. imagine if the falcon was the same size as an A-wing... thats how wrong the scale would be

I'm not saying it is a perfect solution, but it makes way more sense than trying to shoe horn it into Epic.

Honestly, I just don't think it fits in x-wing. It's too big for normal, a little too small and non-epic in capacity for epic (no turrets, no hardpoints, only forward guns etc). And it's WAY too wide for either unless you put it vertically, in which case it's WAY too tall, and it would be bigger in physical space terms than any FFG box to date has tried to support.

I just can't see it being viable.

Hence why I've been saying it would be the better part of valor to just go ahead and scale it down. Most of the Epic ships are already on a different scale compared to small and large base ships. Yeah, it being out of scale with everything else isn't a great solution, but I do think it is worth it for some of the cards it could bring plus bolster the number of Mandalorian ships available.

Wave 12...

What i hope to ge for imperials:

- A large imperial ship that cost around 50 pts when geared properly and is maneuverable. My #1 ship would be a Sith Infiltrator

- Some good faction specific upgrades to bring it in line with the other 2 and improve built diversity.

What we are most likely to get:

- A Tie interceptor 2.0 (the Silencer)

- A Tie Bomber 2.0 with 2 bomb slots and less torp/missile slot

Why do everybody name Episode VIII ships? We can be sure Wave 12 is announced at GenCon. Thats before Force Friday.

If it works like the last 2 movies we get the Silencer and new A-Wing in December (not part of a wave really - but maybe it counts as part of Wave 12).

So more interesting is WHAT ships are the REST of wave 12? It must be some ships that are not in TLJ! (if the want to announce them at GenCon)

I like this human. He understands.

FFG often has a "theme" for each wave.

Maybe wave 12's theme could be ships for all 3 factions.

Mining Guild TIE for scum so everyone has a TIE.

Then V-wing for all 3 factions. Maybe comes in a two pack with alternate paint schemes and room for all the cards and cardboard.

Then either another ship for all 3 factions OR a ship used by 1-2 factions currently now available for the remaining.

Like a rebel and scum lambda. Or a rebel firespray.
