New article up on main page discussing a card from Princes of the Sun, Parting Blow.
Well, I think it was a brilliant and insight bit of writing.
I liked the article. I think it gives people not accustomed to seeing combos a good way to read cards in a non-traditional way, especially for new players who might not think to play this kind of a card after they discard a character.
When I first started playing I liked an others plot card (forget the name, and w/ tzu acting up can't find it where I am now), but it said a player with 4 STR in their dead pile had to choose and kill a character...well i would play it when I had less then 4 STR so i didn't have to choose and kill a character. The problem was that i read it as choose and kill a character that you control (didn't think you could choose any character w/ your own plot) and then I got smacked w/ it when one of my opponents used it to kill my charcater....opps! It got me to loko at the game in a whole new way. Hopefully, this article teaches the same lesson, but in a pain free way ![]()
Its nedly that a card created as the results of the combo contest is used for an article about combos.
IIRC the other cards were
Daybreak (Ktom)
Liars and Thieves
Punnishment of Thieves
Turmoil in the Realm (The red headed step child of Parting Blow... based on the same submission).
I don't have the article on hand so I don't recall who submitted the other cards... sorry.

Nedly? Nedly means "strongly reminiscent or indicative of the GRRM source material," doesn't it? Not sure how this example fits that definition....
Well now, I wouldn't go so far as "Brilliant". Insightful for sure, but I believe there are many more cards that have yet to be looked at closely. Maybe next time Will will (huh, that worked out well), write an article about some "combo" themes from other houses as well. ![]()
hahaha, do you have a preference, Husemann? I might see what I can dream up.

How about using Parting Blow in combination with Core Set Edric Storm? Get a second POW challenge, and kneel your opponent's possible defender.

Oh right... we use nedly so often in place of "thematic" when it comes to agot.
Anyhow aside from my syntax errors, was the list I compiled accurate. (Or is there a segmentation fault :-P )
