I play and deckbuild a lot of LoTR with a group of friend of mine. We build and update a lot of decks that I want to share with you. For each deck I give you a list on RingsDB and a more elaborated description (but in French). Best deck are presented first, worst are at the end. Enjoy and leave me a lot of comments here and in ringsdb. I like to discuss strategy :).
Gandalf: Gandalf / Glorfindel / Elrond http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5280
This deck is the most powerful deck I know. Able to do almost everything (not as good in fight than real fight deck thought). Also the list we work the most on, far behind the others.
Caldara: Caldara / Galadriel / Arwen Undomiel http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/4687
Also a really powerful deck, especially when paired with a fight-full-of-doomed deck. Also more a quest deck, who can trash allies easily but have hard time if it engaged with multiples enemies at the beginning.
Gimli / Legolas: Boromir / Legolas / Gimli http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5281
A full support deck since he fight, cancel, draw cards, generate resource and reduce a little threat but play very few allies, many events and so don't expend so much but just deal turn after turn with the encounter deck bullies.
Dunedain: Aragorn II / Amarthiúl / Beregond II http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/4344
A 100% fight deck. He send really few in quest. You try to keep at least 3 enemies engaged to feed some effects. We have an abusive gain from Aragorn effect thanks to desperate alliance combo (cheat?) and doomed cards.
Erestor Outlands: Hirluin the fair / Erestor / Galadriel http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5318
Also a lot of doomed cards but this time it is not fight oriented. It is about bring tons of outlands very soon. This deck don't work against like 15% of the scenario but absolutely crush too often the other. So it is powerful but not very funny.
Hamà: Amarthuil / Boromir / Hamà http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5223
A deck who used to be okay but become suddenly strong thanks to Wait no longer. Even if we play it a lot since we are still working on some details but he is still very cool.
Denethor / Legolas: Boromir / Denethor / Legolas http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/4287
A fight deck who have won every scenario (nightmare or not) published since 2016 with Gandalf. He is very good on this association but get supplanted by Legolas / Gimli who is as strong, more easy to play with some other deck and way more fun to play.
Silvan: Celeborn / Galadriel / Haldir http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5320
Based upon galadhrim ministrel and event that put allies in play interaction we have a good deck who quest a lot and can do some other little things. But we need to draw a galadrhim ministrel soon or we don't do so much things.
Dwarf: Dain / Thorin / Bifur http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5480
Still a swarm deck, we try to put as fast as possible as many dwarf as possible. It usually is very good... but pretty limited like Boromir / Denethor / Legolas since he can't reduce threat or help friends. So we need a deck who can manage all the rest, and who have a good hand even when we start good. On the other hand this deck recently succeed with Gandalf to manage 13 enemies revealed at the turn two ^^.
Rohan: Théoden II / Théodred / Eowyn I http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/ 6298
First it was a weak deck but after a lot of work we finally make a deck who quest a lot and can block at the beginning and who can also fight usually since the second or the third one thanks to Eomund/Ghuwine combo and the many ways to find them. Rohan become a serious deck after so many times of "mweh"
Noldor: Arwen Undomiel / Galadriel / Galdor http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/4681
Look like my Caldara but we draw so much cards, but play less. We play a big ally each turn (Glorfindel, Gildor, the two sons of Elrond when the new saga were finaly released, Lindir) and some little. Very regular but never as strong as dwarf or outlands. Still need some work imho.
Ent: Bifur / Faramir II / Mablung http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5256
A use of ents where they can be used on the turn they come, because wait one turn is really too long in LOTR. More powerful that we think it will be but since a little bit long.
Mono Leadershirp Outlands: Denethor / Hirluin the fair / Théodred http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5635
Still in the list because I want a deck with three heroes of a single sphere but really less interesting that the other tribes deck.
Secrecy Energy / Lore: Galadriel / Merry / Pippin
http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5596
Secrecy Energy / Leadership : Denethor / Glorfindel II/ Frodon
http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5595
Secrecy Leadership / Energy / Lore: Glorfindel II / Pippin / Sam
http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5598
Secrecy Leadership / Tactics / Lore: Denethor II/ Eowyn II/ Pippin
http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5634
Mono Lore Scrying: Denethor I/ Mirlonde / Pippin
http://ringsdb.com/deck/view/61439
Secrecy Mono Energy: Frodon Sacquet / Glorfindel II/ Merry II
http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5652
A LOT of secrecy deck because it is my fetish. I'm not ashamed of anyone but they are more casual than the others decks, more recently build and still probably deserve some test and change.
Gondor: Boromir II/ Damrod / Denethor II http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5314
A pretty boring deck that we try to upgrade and keep at the level of the other but who don't get anything to be really strong or pleasant to play.
