[Mafia] Nowhere Special - COMPLETE

*does, not done in the first sentence

@Onidsen is WAY TOO QUIET, even for his own standards, is he avoiding trying to create evidence that could be used for his incrimination later on or even avoiding to help his partner digging himself a hole, while also avoiding lynching him...

Not an accusation Oni, WE JUST WANNA TALK MATE!

He was on as of 10 minutes ago and this is not the first time he's been lurking around the forums while saying nothing.

Sorry folks, got sucked into a "just one more turn" thing on Stellaris. For almost 2 whole days...

I leave this forum open in a tab on my mobile often, so it looks like I'm on when I'm actually doing other things. Sorry about that also.

As far this game goes, I've been struck by two things. First, Norell's vote is...suggestive. I'm not going to go so far as to call it suspicious, because there's a variety of reasons that could be behind it, but Norell is definitely someone to watch. I'd be more ok with hanging him D1 if he wasn't a consistent early game target (I know that's a meta reason, but we ought to be worrying about creating a fun and welcoming community to encourage these games, and not just winning. Though winning is important too :D)

Truthiness is coming down pretty hard on Norell for the L-2 vote. That's...a little odd too? Another one to watch. They could be teammates trying to distance themselves from each other.

And, just for the record, if I were evil and my partner was digging themselves into a hole, I would have no problem with bussing them. The only reason I wouldn't is if it were something that I legitimately wouldn't find suspicious (had that happen in a game before - I was evil and one of my partners was up for the townkill D1 because he asked the question about whether or not we should hang someone D1. He was a returning player after a long absence, and that was a typical discussion when he had been playing before. But forum culture changed while he was gone, and it got him taken out D1. And because I legitimately thought he shouldn't have been targeted, I defended him rather strongly. It got me killed too, but not defending him would have made it go even faster, because it would have been a marked departure from my regular play.)

As far as voting, I'm really leaning towards Norell, but I don't want to kill him early again (meta issues, as I said). I'll give the thread another read-through after lunch and throw a vote out then.

##UnVote Onidsen

Thanks bud! Good thoughts and a reasonable excuse :)

More than good enough!

I may have exagerated a bit on the theories of why...

I wasn't accusing you...Norell doesn't have any history of this change of heart. I'm simply pointing out the lack of consistency.

I really don't know what you're talking about. True, on Tatooine I was against lynching. Then on Killagain's I DID vote on day 1.

As a meta reason I am really happy about lynching Truthiness then! 3 sane force priest between paranoic superstitious fanatics??!

:P

He is also the next one on the time line, so not 100% meta reason.

Who goes after a ninja in the night with a sword? You deserved what you got.

What does this mean exactly?

I am not going to answer this

Bedtime in Europe so I'm signing off. Please don't lynch me before the morning :P

Ceteum censeo Truthiness is the rebel not me.

Answering his post saying you won't answer the question leaves me at the edge of the chair, cos there is something there, and we are going to find out mate, mark my words

You'll find out when the game ends, and we reveal it to you. :)

Exactly what I meant, but it sounds more exciting the way I said it

Interesting absolute since I've not made a determination on you. I'm about as townie as I can get. I'm flattered that you think I'm good enough at this to be a decent scum. I'm barely able to out one foot in front of the other as town. I'm attempting to learn from previous games and day one pressure seems pretty key. You are not reacting particularly well under the pressure.

And if you don't believe me about ba rely being able to put one foot in front of the other as town, just go read Gin's comments about my performance on Killigans :)

Gink's*

Hmm...reading back through the thread, nobody is showing up as hugely suspicious. We've got somewhat less than 24 hours, but there's still time to start putting pressure in other places.

Your vote on me was more than justified - I hadn't participated at all. That's vote-worthy behavior, to be sure. But that vote came at an interesting point in the discussion. Is that you trying to deflect conversation away from a teammate? Deflection works best if the deflected-to topic is one most folks don't object to...

Interesting observation

While the observation is sound, the timing here was merely coincidental. We were discussing lynching someone and I always feel that all the townies should be heard from before that happens. It had been almost 24 hours since we heard from Oni at that point, and I dropped my vote on him as soon as I read his reasoning.

I can buy that for day one.

A decent enough response. I'll keep my observation that the truth makes the best cover for scum in the back of my mind, but on the face of it, it's a reasonable response.

Any other reads out there? My general observations haven't changed. Norell remains my sketchiest read, though I'm no more than 50% on him.
