[Mafia] Nowhere Special - COMPLETE

By GhostofNobodyInParticular, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

The town, sleepless and agitated, made its best effort to identify the terrorists. Oh the horror! Everybody seemed normal! What with all the sleeplessness and the anxiety, the citizens weren't very clear-headed, and voted anybody and everybody, with all arguments swaying them. Back and forth, back and forth, so on and so on, until evening began to fall.

In a rush to be helpful, one member of the gathering tried to write a novel of the events, analyzing all the angles the various characters used to approach the issue, and was turned upon by others who disliked his writing style. Another brave member then took up where he left off, coming off as more favorable to some members of the town, who rushed to follow his advise, and lynch the one he pointed to.

. . . It was just coincidence that nobody liked the target, and that they'd been trying to kill him the entire week (and some from even earlier):

Joe Cutters ( @Norell - Vanilla Town), the town's barber, hated by all for his terrible hair-cuts (all his admirers were killed the blast), was finally brought down by his most aggrieved clients. He was hung by the neck, his styled hair brutally ruffled, his beard half-chopped off (he hated asymmetry), and all his tools of trade broken and shoved into the dirt at his feet.

It is now NIGHT. It shall last 24 hours or until all night actions are in. No posting (even the LOUNGE FOLKS), until it is over. Thanks!

Day 3 dawns. . . on a town defeated. The sound of 'Gaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!' Was heard sometime in the night, but the resigned town ignored in, preferring to finally sleep through the night than discover another dead loyalist.

In the morning it is discovered that the Doctor, Sir Dre ( @Visovics - Doctor), was dead. Having gone to imbibe a bottle of water he had left in his office, he belatedly realized that it had been replaced by something called 'Coke' and capsules of 'Mentos' - people assumed that these were medical supplies. With most of their comrades, including the barber, tailor, cop, and doctor all dead, the remaining two townies finally realized that their government was incapable of killing even 2 terrorists, and so agreed to join them - for spite if nothing else. . . and maybe to get even.

GAME OVER - The victory goes to @Madaghmire and @moodswing5537 - Mafia Role-Blocker and Mafia Goon respectively.

MAD I AM SO MAD AT YOU!

HOW COULD I NOT HAVE SEEN
YOU FOLLOWED ME ALL ALONG

YOU SUGGESTED ME TO UNVOTE MOOD

NOOOOOOO

YOU WERE MY BROTHER MAD I TRUSTED YOU

oh well, nicely played

I played this one so badly, and led people to play badly with flavour :P sorry guyy

Well, yeah. I was almost sure about mood. Also giving them false claims made the game much harder for the townies. It would have been fine if we would have known from the beginning, but in this particular situation it helped the mafia way too much. I mean it is good to be challenged and we didn't perform too well (and I was kind to ourselves) but wasn't this too much? I don't think it is a good idea if GMs talk into the game either. Ginkapo's thrown-in line took us into the forest for at least 2 days.

Ginkapo tried to save you! We both had perfect prefab'd false claims. And what kills me more, both mood and i were constantly telling you guys to stop with the flavor nonsense!

So this is my flavor text: “ Please don’t directly quote. Only paraphrase.

Is my name really Mr. Normal? That’s not a typo?

Yes, your name is Mr. Normal. All the names are meant to be somewhat humors, primarily for my entertainment, since I have feeling most other sane people with think them lame. Your name is Mr. Normal, both because it is a rather odd name to have, and because it’s ironic for a scum to be called Mr. Normal. . . it should subtly warn the townies that something is not normal about your name. :)

I WAS GOING TO TALK ABOUT THAT! But once again, as we knew flavour had no impact I ignored it, DAMNIT BAD TIMING

@Onidsen You doing the next one right`?

It was very confusing anyway. It took me to the wrong track for a loooong time. I mean, I like the idea that flavor texts can't give away anything but it would have been better if we knew it and play accordingly form the beginning.

In sort: Let's keep this fine tradition from now on.

Yeah. Got family stuff today, so expect sign ups to open Monday morning, MDT.

Well, we were told in the beginning, we just misinterpreted. I think it's better if flavours don't impact in games as much, nice job Gnips (and Gink ofc)

Youve now learnt, you wont do it again. If I babysit you wont learn.

This sounds so much like a parent lecture

That sound so much like Ginkapo. If he would be any kinder I would scare that aliens took him :P But that'show we love him ;)

This was an interesting experience. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this game, but it does have some appealing aspects.

It's generally better than that, there was much less talk than usual, and MUCH less analysis

Okay here's my direction...

This is probably way off, but what the hell, we're in ****ville anyhow.

Moods' play has been all over the place, to the point that last night he suspected Norell but voted Onidsen.

We are in " No where Special". Maybe Mr. No body is a rebel."

I know - bad, but as far as flavor, it is all I've got right now. I think maybe the rebels got duplicate flavors or something. We know they have some kind of blocker (Ovi was a Cop) so the game is "normal" otherwise. There has to be some reason Gink sent that quote. (If not, I'm gonna be a little pissed at the interference :) )

Y'all can kiss my imperial butt :)

I still cant believe you all let mood off the hook twice.

No one ever followed up, so attention had to change, otherwise we'd have no lynch.

I fully assumed when I started the tourny yesterday mood would be swinging by the time I was done.

Yeah, you guys managed to talk a lot, but say very little. There was an awful lot of indecision too. You had 5 hours left in this day and only 3 votes. ****, Mood voted more times than everyone else combined.

And for me, my issues kept me away, except for yesterday. Too little, too late.

I made mistakes being a new player, unintentional with the exception of one, and I regret that. It was a poor choice made in a moment of emotion.
