How does the I'll show you the dark side card work. So you pick a pilot card and place it on it then what, I know I am still learning.
How does Kylo work
Welcome to the game and forums.
When the ship with the Kylo condition card defends against an attack, if there is an uncanceled critical result, then the ship is dealt the chosen pilot card instead of suffering damage normally.
Take a look at the at the timing chart in the FAQ. (You can download that from FFG's main X-wing page.) The timing chart clears up most questions about attack-related card abilities.
Ok thx
Worth reiterating that an uncancelled critical hit, doesn't mean a faceup damage to Hull. If you would take a crit to Shields, you would instead take the crit assigned to the condition card. So Kylo let's you assign damage through Shields.

I had to read that twice as things start getting confusing.
You have an uncancelled open explosion symbol (a kaboom or more often called a crit) after the compare dice step of an attack the ISYTDS will replace that die with it's effect which just has you deal the card on the condition to the target ship. Cards being dealt don't care about Shield tokens which is why they are so strong although any "suffering damage" effects must go through Shield tokens before they can deal cards.
OMG!!!! I really have to try him now. Holy moly. Miranda here I come. He he he.

Thanks for clarifying - I too was confused by that response.
Essentially a damage card dealt directly to a ship bypasses shields and effectively counts against remaining hull. This is the same way that Wampa's ability works and makes it possible for a ship to be destroyed while still having shields remaining.

Yes. And a list sporting Wampa and Kylo can theoretically deal two damage underneath shields a turn (it's harder to pull off than it sounds, but kinda fun).
Apologies, super tired when I wrote that garbled nonsense...

Theoretically meaning you manage to roll two kabooms with your attack however I'm not so sure that is going to work. When Wampa's ability is used there are NO DIE RESULT left to trigger Kylo's condition. Now if you're talking about getting those from different sources just remember that a furry of Proton Bombs could do the same things.

Specifically talking about different sources, Wampa would NOT be able to trigger his ability and IWSYTDS in the same shot.
Proton bombs have less opportunity, and are a bit trickier to pull off for most ships, but yes, a couple of them would definitely be able to accomplish the same thing.
Wampa cancels his dice before you compare results, so theres no crit to suffer to trigger Kylo.
The effect is similar though, dealing a card goes through shields, just the trigger is different.
The normal effect for an unsaved crit is "Remove 1 shield, if there are no shields deal one faceup damage card" - Kylo says "instead of the normal effect..." so it bypasses the shield bit, as that is part of the Crit effect and not a blanket ruling (i.e. "Before dealing damage cards, cancel any incoming damage with shield tokens until you are out of tokens" would be a blanket rule, which does not exist)

RAC + Kylo + Palp with Wampa wingman sounds like it could pull it off more or less reliably. You just need shots on the same target and for RAC to hit (and roll a focus, I guess), which I guess can be trickier than it sounds. Still, would be fun. (No idea what you do with your remaining 30ish points though.)
I actually built this list yesterday, and my answer was Omega Leader.

The answer IS Omega Leader. I ran this list at a local weeknight tournament, and the only reason why it didn't do terribly well is because it was the same week Kylo was released, meaning I ran up against two other lists ft. Kylo RAC... Which doesn't have any issues with Wampa, hah.
The new awfulness is likely to be Biggs and the Wookie, so having the ability to get multiple damage cards under [Biggs'] shields could be pretty interesting. I might even consider bringing a third partner with Adv. Homing Missile instead of OL, just so you could, potentially, land three damage under shields in one go (thereby ridding you of interference from Biggs).
Below is more of a Biggs removal gimmick, and someone could probably come up with something a bit better prepared than this, especially since it hamstrings RAC via removing his title and EU... But it should take Biggs out, at least.
