Had a casual Idea. What would be broken with it?

*Personalized Fighter, Title, Small ship Only. 1 Point.

"You may equip one Bomb, Torpedo, Missile, System, Tech or Modification in addition to your allowable upgrades. You may not equip two copies of any upgrade. You cannot equip this to a non-unique pilot"

The theory is some pilots would use their own craft in battle and had made some special modifications to the ship themselves. (Wording is meant to allow an upgrade but not actually add the slot to your bar to preclude things like Unguided rockets or Long Range Scanners)

It is unique so no spamming. Only on Unique pilots, so generally gets expensive. It could do things like give Extra Munitions to Jake or N'Dru, let Wedge take Integrated Astro and Vectored Thrusters, give Soontir a 3rd Mod or a Tech or let Rhymer take TieMk II and Guidance Chips.

Can anyone think of some combos that might make it a little ridiculous? Should it cost more? Should it also allow an Illicit (or is Luke on Stims a bit much :blink: )?

Needs to cost more maybe 2-3 points and should be called " Special Modifications " as a tip to Han Solo's famous line in A New Hope.

EDIT: Scratch underlined part, I thought it would let you equip all those upgrades for 1 point not one of those in addition to your upgrades, my bad.

FCS alone is enough to make this busted all to hell.

The BAD: It take up the "title" slot which could hurt some ships but would be a boon to all others.

The good: Pretty much everything else although you run into those power issues.

You don't want it to add a slot so you couldn't get Unguided Rockets on a ship yet isn't that upgrade a "Missile" all by itself? Maybe the Bomblet Generator would be a good choice as well.

I don't see how it would let Soontir get a third modification. Let's not forget that this would be REPLACING the Royal Guard TITLE on his ship. Now all that means is he picks up the one Modification he had to live with back when he came out but could now pick from all of those other things instead; could even get a second Modification but why spend a point to get something a different title would give you for free?

Where is would start to get game breaking is in the System and Tech spots as so few ships get those to start with.

Primed Thrusters on Soontir Fel.

Comms Relay on the Inquistor.

Integrated Astromech and Autothrusters on Poe.

Fire Control System on Fenn Rau; Sensor Jammer on Old Teroch or Carnor Jax...

The problem isn't on the quirky fun builds... it's when you start to supercharge the stuff that was already top tier. Even in casual, that can be awfully hard to police, and quite a few of the interactions here are liable to get a little ridiculous.

Thank goodness it would still only get one free Evade Action each turn.

Actually this one always bugged me on the Tie Phantom. I seriously wonder if the Great Cloaking Nerf would have been needed if FCS had a line at the end of the card that said, "Must have the Target Lock Icon to equip."

Forgot about Royal Guard (and A-Wing Test Pilot) being titles.

Those wouldn't be the worst ones as all those titles do is give you another slot.

The painful ones would be for things like the ARC and TIE/SF where there is absolutely no reason you wouldn't run the titles as they are effectively there to give those ships the stats they are really supposed to have but which don't fit nicely on a pilot card.

Sadly I couldn't use my beloved Uwing without Pivot wing :( meh it's casual so I'll allow second titles if we ever did this.

Then you're really boosting the terror of Soontir, Fel, and the Inquisitor.
Like, a whole lot.

Oh, and Fire Control System on half the TIE/FOs... or Comms Relay on Vader, letting him token up before the first attack pass.

Or Fire Control System on Ryad or Carnor Jax with TIE/D.

It's got some cool combos in the weaker stuff out there, but the really good things... they just get downright terrifying.
