Konstantine/Jerry Bombers

By Ginkapo, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

For quite a while now I have been wanting to build a Konstantine list with bomber overload but always run short of the points to do so. However, now I have the tool I need to complete it in the Quasar. Problem is I still feel like there arent enough bombers in the list! Thoughts?

For those of you (all of you) who are allergic to Konstantine just replace him with Jerry, they cost the same.

Any reason not just spam generic bombers? Or maybe change the two yv into a bossk and a generic? With ruthless bossk is guarenteed to simply go insane on anything he touches.

Or maybe add in Zertic for the tokens since you don't have intel and will be punching through whatever screen they have and need to have your bombers survive to get use.

Other than that these aggressive ISD fleets in wave 6 are really tough to handle, especially for Rebel bomber fleets with fragile carriers like yavaris or to a slightly lesser extent gallant haven.

And agree that Konstantine is underutilized to force ships- especially those same carriers that dont run nav commands- into a position where they cannot prevent that close range avenger attack.

I understand why you have YV-666's, but I am skeptical (no table work to prove it) that Squall is enough for you here. I agree with Boba trying to spring for Bossk is a good use of points here, and in a pinch you should be able to tap the bombers for RS too. I don't understand the point of Mauler without Intel to let him run wild, a cheap effective Scatter ace I would expect here is Valen, and for God's sake man, put Leading Shots on Avenger. I understand why the Slicer Tools are there, but I think to make them work here you're going to need first player more than the bid you have, so I'm not sure it's worth it to have both.

That said, when this works for you, this will be brutal. @Myrmecology and I proxied a similar thing the other day. Avenger waltzed up behind an undamaged Assault Frigate (first player shenanigans), knocked on the doors with Boarding Troopers, then blew up the whole house in one shot. It was extremely disconcerting and rude. (We were mixing it up, I was the Rebels and he the Imperials.)

I think with red AA, Kallus, RS, 2 YV-666 and Mauler, you have too much anti-Biggs tools. Drop Mauler for Valen. You have nothing to tie down enemy squads except Mauler and Tempest. You're all Heavy. Upgrade a Tie/B to Gamma.

You should get BCC in there. I've played with 2 Slicers and I feel it is too much. Plus you have 5 bombers.

Drop Avenger, Suppressor, and the Lambda. Add a Decimator or another YV-666 and get more bombers. With 2 Rogue right now, you can push the other 6 squads with the Quasar and a Goz. By dropping the Lambda, you free yourself for another Rogue, because I bet you won't be activating YVs with the Quasar since you don't have FC. Valen will let you hold your opponent down. Maybe add Jonus for the ISD since you don't have LS and it works like Avenger.

AG is fine. Hyperspace Assault is a good choice with YV-666 and Slicer. Or just Slicer. You have a lot of deployments as it is. SP is great for this list. Squall let's you push those squads even further and Rogues can give chase.

@Undeadguy I think you need to test out boarding troopers with Avenger.

Thanks for the advice. Valen is a big shout.

YVs are first in to take the RS damage after hitting hard!

I was not considering Boarding Troops... But in my experience with ISD I is they aren't at close range long enough to be effective. I also don't like ISD I. ISD II is more my style.

To each their own, to be sure, but you'll likely find that ISD I Avenger with boarding troopers isn't at close range long because it just blew up the target.

Yeah the issue I have had with the predecessors is making first player work. Boarding troopers Avenger will solve that issue.

Second player I can lean on objectives, though the loss of an interdictor is big
