Looking for a list that I like flying and is competitive

By JSwindy, in X-Wing Squad Lists

(100)

Countess Ryad (36) - TIE Defender
Push The Limit (3), TIE/x7 (-2), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

Omega Squadron Pilot (19) - TIE/FO Fighter
Crack Shot (1), Primed Thrusters (1)

Omega Squadron Pilot (19) - TIE/FO Fighter
Crack Shot (1), Primed Thrusters (1)

"Omega Leader" (26) - TIE/FO Fighter
Juke (2), Comm Relay (3)

is this at all decent? Should I drop the primed thrusters for a bid?

Try it and see. It could be good... it'll certainly be fun. My usual feedback is that many things can be competitive if you practice enough.

Looks solid. I'd say you can keep the primed thrusters. Omega Leader does not benefit that much from a bid.

if you wanna go for something more offensive, you might consider swapping out the two OSP:s for Mithel and Scourge, both with snap shot.

Hope it was fun. Thank you for the feedback though, always appreciated. Any changes you would make to the list based off results? Or just wholesale giving up on it?

True true true.

It's a nasty combination, and surprisingly good at hunting higher PS ships than themselves - normally the Achilles heel of mid PS ships.

So I ran my OP list last night. I really liked it. Running The cracks and Ryad pretty straight on and holding Omega off a bit to try and close the deal will be a frequent theme I think. The primed thrusters may not be super useful and I technically only have one copy. Has anyone tried snap shot on ties? I know its great on A's with Juke. The more I play this game the more I feel I want at least one ship in my list designed to get blocks. I agree Mithel and Scourge are a great combo, but I only have the Howlrunner blister, on the other hand, I have 2 TFA and 1 OL blister, 1 striker, 5 various INT and I really feel for the points the FO makes for the best choice for blockers given what I have. Nayway back to the match, I was 2 of us running new lists, He opend up better and I lost a FO before he could crack and Ryad went down pretty early too, but I rallied with a full health FO and a near dead OL later to pull of basically a draw with OL chasing a turretless feedback array hawk.

I would drop the two Omegas for Quickdraw to give your list some more punch!

I don't totally disagree! My play style tends to work, Better when I have blockers and more ships and thus why it is set up how it is. I have struggled in the past when all my ships are what fall in as aces for some reason. I do need to play around with the SF more, as of yet I don't think I have put it on the table, to be honest

Fair enough! The OSPs won't get you blocks below PS4 though - but nice to have the EPT for crack

You shuld ask yourself what in your list you are "married" to. And what can you change to make those parts work best. If you like running mid-ps FOs, maybe try running them with Juke/Comm Relay with Carnor Jax? If you like crack shot and blockers, I would perhaps suggest to instead try to fit in two Black Squadron pilots with crack shot and an Academy pilot.

That will make it much easier to critique it as well.

I appreciate the input! I'm not really married to anything except that I want a blocker or 2 and that the other two can hold their own in a 1v1 against most ships/pilots. Basically, due to my personal skill lvl, I tend to make a few early mistakes, like over aggressive or poor English control or "misjudged that asteroid" and I find that I recover better in lists that I A) have a blocker B) have more ships. I like black cracks and academies for this purpose, but I only own 1 tie currently. Though I have 5 FO's. I would say I can fly Ryad well and have soloed her against multiple enemy ships before, so I thought she should be an auto include for me. I do like the idea of the 3 ties you are suggesting and if/when I can afford to buy the OG core, it'll definitely be something to try (might even borrow 2 in the near future)
