Has anyone used these? If so how would you rate them? They look like they'd be good to use for the game.
Command mats
Looks cool!
In theory they look useful in practice most tables i end up playing on have very little room left for even the ships cards to fit on
Cool, but space issues and the fact that they don't work with the full art ship cards. And probably not enough room for flotillas.
You aren't going to pick those up and move them from table to table. They will add style if you have the space.
I like the idea. But I have and play a combination of vertical and horizontal ship cards. Also, even after the FAQyou're still looking at 4+ activations for any serious fleet.
Yeah I agree with the above. I'm a sucker for stuff like that but I barely have room for my cards on tables most of the time, nevermind including a mat like that. It's rather pretty though.
My local store sells them - the quality is really nice, and when the play area allows for them, they work out really well (even if your fleet makeup doesn't 100% match).
@CyborgNinja sold me on them a few weeks ago when he had them out. They're really nice when you have a 4x6 area to play in, because they're 6" deep, and if both players are running them you end up with an appropriate play area without needing to mark anything off. The mats are 3 feet long, so you can mix and match 2 sets of them for your 6' board edge. I have 2 of them (both are 3 ship versions) and like the quality and layout of them. I don't use them all of the time, but like many other things we buy for Armada, they're nice to have when we need them. They're made out of the mousepad material, and roll up relatively small.
Edited by emsgoofThese actually seem like they'll work really well, to me at least.
Most stores I've been to have 4x6 tables to allow 40k, so a 3x6 play area will allow each player to have 2 of these on their side. I wish you could customize them to have your preferred number of ships and squads, but oh well.
10% sale right now.
Would they be easy to cut with scissors to be able to only have out what you want?
I prefer individual ship docks.

me too. You can reposition the docs as your me too. You can reposition to match the order on the game area. Plus, you can easily remove a ship when it's destroyed. individual docks you can pick up and move all the tokens abd cards with it.
Do these mats have recesses to put the cards and tokens into? If so I am interested, just for storage purposes. The ship docks are too large, heavy and unwieldy for people who have to move house a lot.

From the pics, these are just printed mouse mats, like the FFG mats.
I can't see anything of those tiny screenshots....
