Obi-Wan/Rey deck. Thoughts?

By Kyle Ren, in Star Wars: Destiny

Has anyone else had good results with Obi Wan? I know a lot of people (myself included) were disappointed with him when he was released. So, I took this deck to a small local tournament (it's a weekly event, so still a bit more of a casual play event than a championship), not really expecting much, and I managed to beat a number of great decks, including Palpatine and Vader/Raider! I ended up winning the tournament. Has anyone else had similar experiences, or was it just a fluke?

This was my general strategy with it:

Aggressive mulligan to get Force Speed and Vibroknife on Rey round one. Try to use Obi-Wan's 3-melee with Guard to remove opponent's dice as much as possible. Load all the upgrades on Rey, playing One With the Force just before she is defeated. In the subsequent rounds, try to use OWTF focus to make Obi deal 6 damage per round. If you're lucky, when they finish him off, you'll have a dice in the pool and you can win last minute with Decisive Blow.

Hard to knock a tournament winner, even if it was a casual event... But I am curious if Determination or Synchronicity helped much? It also wouldn't have crossed my mind to include Decisive Blow, but I guess it proved it's worth!

I would think taking out mixed damage dice like the Bow and Training in favor of Luke's saber and another saber would help it move faster and be more consistent.

I tried something similar with eLuke/Rey and liked it alot. Currently waiting for another Ben so I can try him as elite.

Thanks for all the helpful advice!

This was what I built later when I got home (stupidly, I didn't keep the deck built, and I often have trouble with the online deck building tools) so I think maybe Determination and Synchronicity might not have been in there when I won the tournament... I might have instead had two copies each of Force Misdirection and High Ground. Afterwards, I was thinking about adding them in. I might try this deck again with them, just in case it works (it might be useful to change Obi-Wan's 2 focus to damage, for example), but I think you're right that they're just not the most useful cards.

Yeah, I'm still on the fence about Light Bow. I don't remember using it at all during the tournament. I just kinda feel bad that it's a legendary and I never use it! I'd also really like to have another One With The Force in there, I'll just need to wait until my boxes of Awakenings arrive tomorrow!

Determination should be there if it wasnt. Not sold on the synchronize

Determination pretty much meana you can do the special on any upgrade even if its not showing alot of the time

I saw this "build" run w/ illusion. OW + Rey was pretty deadly in the three games she played.
