Sleeving Two Cores - Redundant Cards

By Doji Kuribe, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

I just picked up two Core sets and I'm going to hit up some hobby shops this weekend to buy sleeves. I haven't played yet because I'm paranoid about sleeving.

I'm wondering how many cards I should actually sleeve to have everything I would need ready. I'm assuming some of the cards are redundant but not sure which ones. Do the number of monsters and such increase with the number of players or would I just need one set of all those?

The only cards used from the second set would be, all the investigator cards (including neutrals) except for the investigators themselves and their personal cards. You only need one set of weaknesses and one set of the cards for the campaign.

If you want all 3 core set scenarios ready at the same time, you'll need a second set of encounter cards for the following encounter sets: Ghouls, Striking Fear, Ancient Evils, Chilling Cold and Dark Cult (27 cards total).

239 Cards (5 Investigator Cards, 5 Mini Cards, 110 Scenario Cards, 119 Player Cards)

You would want to sleeve the 119 player cards, and that is it.

Minus the investigator specific cards and weaknesses, you only need one of each of those in the collection.

As @Khudzlin said, if you would like to have all the scenarios prepped and ready to go, there are a few encounter sets that are worth sleeving doubles of. This becomes more relevant if you want to start buying the Dunwich cycle, as I keep all the relevant encounter sets in one box with all the scenario-specific ones. I'm planning on having a box for each campaign cycle, but we'll see how sustainable that is. I don't want to be buying additional core sets just to have the right number of Ancient Evils cards for all the campaigns!

I wouldn't bother sleeving up the extra encounter cards. It is convenient only if you only own the base set - since you'd need to fetch those cards for some Dunwitch quests too.

I like to sleeve all the encounter cards. But I keep the player cards always un-sleeved.

When ever I make a player deck I have 50ish sleeves ready to go. I create the deck, then I sleeve the deck. When I am done using that deck. I unsleeve all the cards and put them away.

I use dragonshield sleeves for my player decks. I buy a different color for each player. Since I support 4 player games, I have 4 boxes of dragonshields. Then when I make 4 different decks, I sleeve each one in a different color.
