Minefield Mapper and Extra Munitions

By 2068, in X-Wing Rules Questions

We don't need an entire rewrite of the rules or a new FAQ to answer a simple question, so when is Fantasy Flight just going to come out and answer this question? Can you use minefield mapper, a bomb upgrade, and extra munitions to drop two of the same bomb upgrade cards on the map by discarding both the extra munitions token on the card AND ALSO the bomb upgrade card?

Because they only answer unresolved rules questions by FAQ.

It's almost funny to read suggesting you can drop two of the same card when you don't have two of the card to drop.

Part of me is almost hoping that they say Extra Munitions will only come into play if the are discarded as part of "normal" play and thus don't have any effect during the setup phase when MM would lay out the bombs.

Remember how many people thought that you could barrel roll a ship off the board with tractor beam?

It needs to be FAQ for clarification.

I fail to see the relevance.

And if EVERYONE else also failed to see the relevance, than it would not need FAQed.

I still don't see how that has any bearing on FFG's policy to not answer unresolved rules questions except by FAQ.

And yet there's an entire thread dedicated to this very question...hmmmm

Several.

But that doesn't change the fact that FFG won't ever respond to them, and will only answer the questions by FAQ release.

And yet they have a way to e-mail them directly with rules questions...why exactly?

To answer peoples' questions that DO have clear RAW answers and to canvas for questions that don't.

I presume.

They used to answer unresolved stuff that way too, but they stopped a while back.

They never answer questions in this forum, clear or otherwise.

FAQ stands for F requently A sked Q uestions.

... If there was no way to ask directly, there would be little actual way to determine what the legitimate questions are, versus the un-asked for opinions of an extremely vocal minority.

Okay...

sorry to resurrect this topic, but after some national tournaments, do we have some "more official" ruling on this matter?

No.

We're still waiting for an FAQ.
