Will this game get a spot at an upcoming National event or anything similar?

Non star wars Worlds would be coming up too right? Would be cool to see Runewars there!

When they announced the game last GenCon (2016), they said it would receive full OP support. We're still waiting on details. My guess is that they're waiting for at least the Latari Elves to be released, or maybe even the Uthuk Y'llan, before they start OP.

I think the first OP event will probably be world campionship weekend this Fall. Then they'll start store championships next year.

Isn't there a Runewars tournament at GenCon in the middle of August? I thought I saw it on the event list.

There are actually two events going on at GenCon. I'm hoping that they'll release an FAQ and some OP information before then. Some people might need some clarification for army construction.

I personally think we'll see the OP rules after the Carrion Lancers / Golems are released. Until that point, you can't effectively field an army without proxies. After that, I bet we'll see it any time. I don't think they'll wait for the elves etc because those armies will likewise have to go through the expansion availability cycle.

Since Runewars is part of worlds this fall, can't imagine they can wait too long! I'd like to think that Runewars will likewise be part of at least a set of regionals? Least I sure hope so!

They have announced that Runewars will have a World Championship this year, alongside Netrunner, Game of Thrones, and Legend of the Five Rings.

So far there hasn't been anything else for information yet though.
