A little store championship help

By JSwindy, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have my first store champ tomorrow and I would like to make a good showing. Unfortunately my skill level seems to be decreasing and am on a bit of a losing streak. Below are the two lists I'm debating and I don't really know what to expect. My lgs includes a skilled Echo pilot and a scum player that runs a shadow caster with a mix of z's and or a hawk. We are expecting an infusion of players I don't know, but I don't really expect many bomb lists.... Anyway:

Dash/Norra (100)

Dash Rendar (58) - YT-2400
Push The Limit (3), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), Kanan Jarrus (3), Outrider (5), Engine Upgrade (4)

Norra Wexley (42) - ARC-170
Push The Limit (3), Tail Gunner (2), R2-D2 (4), Alliance Overhaul (0), Engine Upgrade (4)

OR

Deathfire and his defenders (100)

"Deathfire" (28) - TIE Bomber
Homing Missiles (5), Cluster Mines (4), Extra Munitions (2), Long-Range Scanners (0)

Colonel Vessery (36) - TIE Defender
Juke (2), TIE/x7 (-2), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

Countess Ryad (36) - TIE Defender
Push The Limit (3), TIE/x7 (-2), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

I also some time use TB Vess.

Any suggestions, comments, flight plan ideas, etc are appreciated, guess I'm a lil nervous, I'll have fun as normal I'm sure, but I'd love to make top 4 just to make me feel better about all the money I've spent ??

Love the bomber/defender list. Built something like it for a friend, and it's pretty hard to kill. I like your list a lot better than the one I made.

The only thing I'd change (and it's just the flavor I like) is the Long Range Scanners for Guidance Chips, and Homing Missiles for Prockets. I'm probably in the minority on this one, but it works well for me.

Break a leg!

I don't think it's possible for your skill level to decline unless you haven't played in a long time. Don't worry, take confidence! Even if you do weird stuff; all our brains get fuzzy sometimes. But each decision point is a new decision point, don't let the last one faze you! And don't pressure yourself over top four; then you might not have fun! Just kill each ship as it comes, and if you find yourself on top of the clouds, what a beautiful sight. Knock 'em dead, JSwindy.

Hmmm, I think C3PO Norra would be alot better here, then I would vote for this one. Would have to drop EU to Vectored Thrusters, then have a 1pt bid.

I played this exact list in Vegas regionals and can confirm it is a beastly list. It made top 4 (or top8). This was pre-nerf though, but Deathfire is a mean 28pts and acts as a scary Biggs (i.e. if they gun for him and dont PS kill him, he gets a Missile off then bombs on the next round). That is how I loss against this list. Deathfire rolled double natural evades and survived with 1 hull, next round a nice triple cluster mine on my lancer. That said, if Deathfire cant get his missiles , and has to chase an opponent like Dash Miranda, and your two Defenders have to do all the offensive work, it can get rough.

So I played the defender list and went 1-3 :( but it was a good event! Thinking I'd have been better to run the dash list.
