You can do both attacks...and it's NASTY.

Had it happen to me in one of my vassal league games this past season. He was lucky to get it off as he rolled a decent attack and then of course I rolled just enough evades to trigger it and then got no evades on the follow up shots!

Luckily I still won the game.

And that just about sums up this gimmick. Triple tap looks good on paper, but in reality the list's mobility is so low it's unable to function properly after the initial engagement.

Dengar Tel has a very comparable damage output on top of higher total PS, double 360, full mods after bumping and a white sloop (as opposed to red and a ship that can't turn around).

Also, Kylo Ren - if he's using the new damage deck - because blinded pilot denies the original attack.

In the old deck, blinded pilot just stops you rolling dice, so the effect triggers automatically.

All it might take is one round of combat to tip the balance in the Bossk/88B player's favour when he can, theoretically, shoot at you 5 times from two ships.

The reason the combination working as it does doesn't bother me is because it's not that Iggy/Bossk can swing the combat in one round, they more ofter than not have to. Its a very all in list and if that big set up doesnt pay off you may not get the chance to pull it off again that game.

That said, if it's not your cup of tea, thats fine. Doesn't change the fact that Bossk can doubletap while getting a back rub from a robot. (Fact, here, is used not as a turn of phrase, but rather to indicate the objective reality of robot-on-lizard back-rub-induced-rapid-fire.)

Yeah, and in reality it's not even really a "triple tap" as the first attack is useless. In almost all cases if the opponent has the opportunity to take a hit or two from it, they generally should, thus you're never actually going to get 3 damage dealing attacks, let alone 3 with mods. And the first attack won't strip any tokens, nor can it trigger anything like FCS (slaver doesn't have a system slot) so it is literally useless.

So yeah it's a minor loophole but not a particularly great one. There are much easier ways to get 2-4 useful attacks (1-2 on bot, 1-2 on slaver) in a round than this. And it's still worse vs. aces than brobots by themselves are (which can both trigger FCS and do something more useful on the first shot like ion cannon).

It's really not useless, it can token strip potentially, though most targets would want to let it through, some definitely wouldn't.

Actually filling the third slot with HotShot Copilot would probably enhance it a lot from that perspective.

I like to take the HotCop in the seat others have reserved for Dengar, and force myself to miss with Predator on Bossk instead.

In what cases would you not want to let it through? For everyone short of Fenn at range 1 (and even maybe then...) you're almost guaranteed to take more damage from taking two subsequent token-less attacks than from letting a single damage through on the first one and negating the single trick your opponent spent a ton of points on in their list :) Certainly HotCop makes it somewhat more useful but then you're putting *even more* points into the one trick pony... at this point it's much cheaper just to get another ship for the extra attack.

Like I said, definitely in the category of "more clever than it is good".
