That was a low blow

By Parakitor, in Runewars Miniatures Game

hahaha... wow. Yes, this feels intentional.

Came here to say the same thing... I'm actually looking forward to that Runebound expansion, but that was just dirty...

I'm still shellshocked that the 4th faction was'nt presented at Origins game fair.

Also, look at the spelling here " It was only the heroism of Timmerran Lokander that saved the world..." Timmerran is like the derpy version of Timorran right?

Well you cant say we didnt get a Uthuk article today :/

Its funny, i looked at the news article going "Wait there isnt anything to spoil for a couple weeks i doubt they'd unveil some new stuff that quick" and i saw the Uthuk article. Clicked, started reading, then it dawned on me it wasnt RWM.

Bastards....lol

This line also got me thinking:

" Their violent warbands have gathered and are riding out of the wastes"

Riding out. Is this just a fantasy war phrase I'm unfamiliar with, or will the Uthuk be mounted on some type of demonic creatures?

I like this "scorched earth" effect in Runebound as a possible mechanic in Runewars. Darned if I know how you implement that though

It's probably terrain that will come with one of their heroes, like Malaana. Could be interesting.

I felt trolled as well:)

Scorched earth could work like overgrown. I wasn't fooled as I saw Runebound, in top corner.

but was does confuse me, I don't play any of the board games. There's 3 editions of runebound? And a couple different board games? Other than Descent? Doesn't matter I only have time for Runewars, I only read the other article for lore on Terrinoth.

Looking at time of the news posts though they originally announced the elves part of the expansion the Friday before the first latari preview... So that's something to think about.

It would be cool if they could destroy terrain and just keep moving through.

It did get my hopes up for a fleeting second or two, but when I saw the artwork, I recognized it as from the Unbreakable Bonds expansion.

I wasn't interested in Runebound because I knew the token-flipping combat mechanic was going to fall flat with my wife. But now that we don't have to oppose one another and can play cooperatively, I'm seriously tempted to get Runebound and Unbreakable Bonds. It doesn't seem there is much of a miniatures scene in Laredo, TX. :(

KAHN!!!

Nah, this is just a horsey term. Hmmm maybe I can finally get my wife interested in war games...but perhaps not.

Personally, I think they misused the phrase. I doubt we'll see very many Uthuk riding on demons (with Malaana being a notable exception).

Wouldnt it make more sense for them to have a unit that is simply defined as cavalry for the game purposes, i.e. a taur-type creature or fourlegged beast w/ no rider?

Yeah, most people I've dated preferred coop games. Have you two tried the Arkham Horror LCG?

And here i am only finding girls that instantly get a look of disgust when they find out i play games at all (any game)....
I'd consider myself lucky to find a girl that even tolerates my habits, let alone joins me in them. Not like im one of those douchebags where games > friends/family or anything.

Spike of excitement and then the epic level troll we just got set in LMAO.

Yeah, I totally agree. Fleshrippers!

As an aside, the Orcs of the Broken Plains ride dinosaur-like lizards.

We did the LotR LCG for a little bit, but she doesn't like building the decks. She prefers something that's a little more self-contained. The game we get the most mileage out of is Rune Age. It has two cooperative scenarios she likes. She even suggests it herself sometimes! Other coop games we own include Elder Sign, Warhammer Quest: The Adventure Card Game, Pandemic, and Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle.
