[Dragon] Mirumoto's Fury

By Coyote Walks, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

Splashing this card in Crane sounds miserable for the other player. Between this, Kakita, and the stronghold it will be really hard to make an attack. A player will likely need to over commit in which case you just don't use your bow effect and counter attack hard.

Useful against 'utility' characters like Doji Gift Giver who typically have decent abilities but low glory. I think in this way it pushes conflicts towards a one v one scenario: presumably where Dragon will have the advantage. I'm chalking it up as 'anti-gift giver' tech.

Good defensive bow. I wonder if Cranes will use this? With the title and all ^_^

If I decide I like the Dragon cards more than the Lion or Phoenix cards? Sure, but I think the Jade Tetsubo and Reprieve are also top choices.

If I see a Crane deck with this card in it, I will make the Crane player regret it dearly. :P

So, I only just realized you can play this card even if you didn't defend with any of your characters.

I suppose I'm still looking at cards from an 'OldL5R' perspective.

Even in the endphase of a game, this card can bow charakters with 2 glory. I think every Dragon will play this 3 times in his deck. The only real condition of this card is the fate cost and that you have to be the defender.

It says during a conflict.

Yes. With endphase I mean late game.

Err why 2 glory..assuming the Dragon is losing, 3 province broken and revealed, opponent swings for the Stronghold which reveals its province card..now the Dragon has only one unrevealed province.

and that if the opponent don't chump scout the last province to reveal it before the main conflict on the SH.

Only if the character's ability cost include bowing. Otherwise you can use abilities when bowed, making this card meaningless against those characters.

Ah good point. Maybe not that useful then. Disappointing :(

It's not meaningless because bowed characters still do not contribute their skill to the Conflict. A lot of the game revolves around being able to win Conflicts or preventing your opponent from doing so, so even if characters with Action abilities can still use those while bowed, removing their skill from the Conflict is still quite good and important.
