Hey guys, first time posting on these forums.
Long story short, I have a store comp on tomorrow (AEST) and I've decided to play an Imperial fleet. I own the Core set, VSD, Raider and Imperial Squadrons 1 expansions, along with a few Rebels expansions (Neb, CR90, MC30c). I've played as many games as I can count on one hand. I played last night with a pair of VSDs, a Raider and some squadrons. I've tweaked it a bit, here it is:
El Tres Amigos
399/400
Admiral Motti
Objectives: Opening Salvo, Contested Outpost, Intel Sweep
Victory I (97)
Intel officer, Gunnery team, Expanded hangar bay, Assault proton torpedoes.
The idea here is to support the V2 at range and use Squadron commands until combat gets to Close range.
Victory II (143)
Admiral Motti, Dominator, Intel officer, Gunnery team, Overload pulse.
Cruising alongside the V1, these two can double tap two ships together, one to strip shields and the other to deal damage, as the opposition and positioning dictates.
Raider I (48)
Instigator
This little ship has two roles; grab objectives and/or intercept squadrons that slip or break past mine. Worst case it can be used as a sacrificial lamb or a shield. Better to lose the Raider that V1 or V2.
Squadrons (111)
Dengar
2x TIE Advanced
Major Rhymer
TIE Bomber
Howlrunner
TIE Fighter
Soontir Fel
Now this lot may seem confusing. The gist is to force enemy squadrons to go for the two TIE Advanced, leaving the rest to prosecute targets at will. Dengar lets me break away from fights I don't want to be in, and the additional Counter helps. My concern is that there isn't enough plebs, and last night taught me that concentrated fire from ships can be devastating.
So there it is. Within the parameters of what I own, am I on the right track, or does this need further tweaking?
