Scum Tournament List Help

Hi guys and girls i have my first store champs coming up and I am stuck deciding on a list. So far i have only played in a small group of 3 people so i am looking forward to it.

The first list everyone will know. It is a straight copy of the world list. Its nice easy to run and fairly forgiving.

  • Dengar (58) - JumpMaster 5000
    Expertise (4), Extra Munitions (2), Plasma Torpedoes (3), K4 Security Droid (3), Unhinged Astromech (1), Punishing One (12), Guidance Chips (0)

  • Tel Trevura (40) - JumpMaster 5000
    Veteran Instincts (1), Extra Munitions (2), Plasma Torpedoes (3), K4 Security Droid (3), Unhinged Astromech (1), Guidance Chips (0)

My 2nd list the opposite end of the scale. The aim is to corner the enemy and hit them at range 1 with hits they cant evade.

  • 4x Tansarii Point Veteran - M3-A "Scyk" Interceptor
    Attanni Mindlink (1), "Heavy Scyk" Interceptor (2), Autoblaster (3)

No comment on the worlds list, except to say we know it's good.

Second list doesnt jive for me. Scyks are much happier sitting at range 3 lobbing cannons than getting into range one and being burned down before they get a chance to shoot. Also, Autoblasters are 5 points. Squad still works, but still. If you replace them with Mangler Cannons, your squad can dance at the edge of range 3 and possibly mash some crits through. If you're cool with having different pilot skills, you can sub in some of the named Scyk pilots to spice things up. Either way the list focuses more on flying defensively than hyperaggressively.

If you want hyperaggression, we have the Protectorate Starfighter. You can link 3 kitted out Concord Dawn Veterans with Inaldra, have all ships at PS 3 with Inaldra built to taste... maybe Heavy Scyk, Pulsed Ray Shield, and a Tractor Beam, to rob your intended murder victim of an agility before the Vets stab it to death. Also, being able to dump a badguy on a rock is always rude.

I'm in agreement here. Syck's from a distance. I've seen genesis red with a heavy used well. And while the world's list is an obvious winner, running the "best" list just seems cheap. Do you have a plan to fly those sycks to use the autoblaster? My biggest concern would be ships picking them off from a distance.

Usually I sweep them across the board so I am at staggered ranges. That way they can't out flank me. Found once I get to range 1 I can chew through a lot. Trouble is I have been destroyed due to only ps5 and stuff just keeping out of range 1.
