Yeah, I think that's just how they staged the photo, the infantry figures should be used as single figure upgrades for infantry units. Although, if you prefer the way the infantry figures look over the cavalry versions I don't see why you couldn't use them instead. The stats on the dial matter and don't care what piece of plastic represents it.

I've gotten in the habit of putting a standard bearer figure in an infantry unit whether I have a single figure upgrade or not. I just think they make the unit look better. So long as my opponent knows it's just for show its not a problem.

No your not. Hawthorne and Akhaur single mini is used as a champion in infantry blocks, the are mounted standalone and can be put into Calvary units also.

Technically, you could put them in those bases that you have from Kari/Ardus and just use them like that with the regular stats... there'd be no harm... They would just be sprinting really really fast.

The command tools do show the cavalry symbol on them, indicating that you should be using the mounted models for the standalone units since those ones have cavalry bases. If someone really, really wanted to use their infantry model on a scenic base, though, I think I'd let them.

I do this with the full command unit usually, they just look more interesting...and it isn't like my opponent doesn't ask when they can kill anyway lol...rule of cool
