New expansion! Streets of Arkham
Never underestimate how badly non software people work together with IT. People don't understand computers.

Not to mention us software developers have failed a few sanity checks, somewhere along the line... ![]()

As a programmer I can attest that both of these are often true.
Programming is quite an esoteric occupation. From what I know, every company no matter the size, can have troubles on the border between source code and mundane world.

The way they stated there was an issue with the app that wasn't taken into account makes it seem this is very likely.
It's possible. The DLC could be a rushed job.
Hehe, a periodic role at work is mediating between non-software production staff and software production. "Team irl" usually does the calls for the overall direction based on the information i translate from devspeak, and likewise, the specifications that goes to development needs an equal amount of decoding since it's written in the language of exhibition production and requires a level of interpretation of intentions and break it down to subfeatures that's tangible for a coder. I never thought that i would be the interface in "interface design" when i started. ![]()

And as a software test engineer I have a...unique...relationship with the programmers. Ya'll are crazy ![]()

In MOM2 it was 4 & 8, here it reinforces the 2 & 4 tempo. I am wanting minis for my other Arkham Files games, and I think there are some 49 (48+1 exclusive) investigators from FFG's original Arkham Horror forward. If they're worried about running out of investigators and that they'll have to create new ones, the LCG will hit that headlong first as they release some 10 or so per year. I'll allow that they'll probably release some alt variant of the existing characters, but creating new ones is not particularly blasphemous to our great lord, Cthulhu.
Just a thought.
I need to correct myself on this matter.
Both of the original expansions, big and small, had 4 characters.
Man, I just hope this expansion has better minis. I still cannot get some of the other minis into their bases for fear of breaking them.

I wouldn't call FFG (or even Asmodee) a huge corporation.

That is purely subjective. Within the given criteria I believe Asmodee is quite enormous.
And yet it's still owned by a bigger entity(/entities).

If you're up for a little related but interesting reading: http://www.mechanics-and-meeples.com/2016/02/08/asmodee-the-other-creature-that-ate-the-gaming-world/
Looks like it's time for a proper introduction (of the investigators): https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2017/10/18/a-proper-introduction/
I just finished (after being lazy for years) painting the last of the MoM miniatures that I had. I guess I'd better get ready to paint a few more.
I just got my new boxed set yesterday. Everything is primed and ready for paint. I'm going to try and have it all at the good enough stage, three colours no ind and a few details by game time tonight.
Its Friday morning. I've got two kids, a 2-liter bottle of Shasta and my all Rush mix tape. Let's rock!!!!!!

That Sounds like a good Friday to me. My copy is in the mail and i didnt see anyone post yet. How many of each monster do we get and what size are they?
One LARGE
Two medium
then two of each small <Skeletons and mobster>
You also get four new investigators.
<BEGIN RANT HERE>
When you place them next to your other mins and leave the room I suspect it will be much like the beginning of toy story and all the other minis will be crushed and heartbroken to see that the new minis have actual details on them are made of better plastic, not that old chewing gum stuff and are sculpted into WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more dynamic poses.
I'm worried about the George Harrison bob wearing "Hey I'm in the open pass the ball" zombies will just seppuku on the spot followed shortly after by the "flat faced sexy devil halloween costume with no muscle definition" goat spawn....Then of course the "I do all my evil druid stuff in this bathrobe" guys.......Blech those suck so bad..... The poor ghosts and zombies compared to the pirates looking skeletons are a sad sight to see and I bought the transparent upgrade for the ghosts.
ISN'T A DARK DRUID BASICALLY JUST A CULTIST OF SOME SORT??? Seriously??? Did I need those guys? Have you seen how many cultists I have?
<END RANT, REJOIN REALITY>
Ok I'm back., It looks great. I'm painting so fast that I stabbed myself in the chin with an exacto cleaning up the almost NON existent flashing. Thanks for the quality.....WOOOOOOOOT Happy days and the gangsters are wicked cool!!!!!
I particularly like Diana's and Marie's investigator figures.
Probably going to try to play one of these later today. Hope the app doesn't glitch out! I'm always so nervous playing new scenarios of MoM very soon after launch.

Same.
Unfortunately, poor Becky is twisted and warped to the point I'm not sure I can save her. ![]()
Hopefully a little near-boiling water can bring her back from the edge.

Good luck! Alas, poor Becky.
Just picked up my copy.
Absolutely concur with the sentiments on the minis; an incredibly noticeable improvement. Major kudos to the design and production teams.

I still have nightmares about getting that Dark Young seated correctly. In my copy, at least, all the new minis slotted in quite nicely. Whoever they hired to design this batch of sculpts is definitely giving them their money's worth.
Found a couple of bugs in Astral Alchemy, but nothing game breaking. About to try to post them somewhere useful. Overall, I had a really fun time with it.
Marie is great. ![]()
