I was actually thrilled that we got a well produced article about the FAQing. It makes me feel like we matter a little. :)

Two bcc and Toryn. Oh my that hurts.

Claiming it was 'too many points' based on lack of experience isn't really empirically based.

Math and diminishing returns. You need to cut things out to put things in. Each additional ReRoll devalues, BCC +Toryn is more than plenty.

General Rieekan has become a popular choice of competitive players in Star Wars: Armada.

WHERE?? NOT HERE. NOT - HERE

Please stop killing the game basing the nerfs in ISOLATED metas. AND if you are hitting with the nerf bat then care to, at least, ADJUST THE ******* POINTS TO IT'S NEW EFFECT.

Why cant I use properly the TRC on my ONLY JLCR90 because some, again ISOLATED CRAZY METAS, bring 10 cr90 swarms to actual games. Who the **** buys 10 cr90 blisters in REAL LIFE??

This is nonsense. Armada going down real fast. Thanks to cryers all over the other ******* side of the world.

As someone who plays both sides I felt the Imperial units getting nerfed got hit harder.

***** please, Demo and Rhymer have been OP since the Core Game. Rieekan and TRC's are way more recent, and never became OP before flotillas.

Dont get me wrong, I disagree with every nerf done here. Demo and Rhymer just made better and more creative rebel players. Just let people play!

i mean, if you dislike Rebels hitting you with squads, you have interceptors. With a Quasar, Flight Controllers, and 6 TIE interceptors, you can mulch through a mess of squadrons FAST...

I mean, you can see from my post

I'm waaaaay ahead of you there... but that doesn't fix the problem... it only makes it worse....

the problem is there are just too many fighters... they're too involved for how little entertainment they derive

How can I explain this...

Okay, say there are a ton of termites having a war with some ants on your floor.... and you're gonna watch the action before calling your exterminator... then one side calls out a tarantula and the other side calls out a scorpion... and they start fighting....

Which ones are more entertaining to watch?

Do you suddenly give a flying **** about the nameless black specks swarming the backdrop to this epic battle between spider and scorpion?

No.... of course not...

Just because Star Wars focuses on the ants in the canon, (which this game is definitely not), doesn't mean I should be forced to give a crap about them... they're ants...

Even if I bring my ants to counter your ants it doesn't make it more fun than the spider vs the scorpion.... it just means I waste all my time playing with ants...

I'm offended at the suggestion that it's that easy!

Is the problem that you have to play with ANY squads or that the Rebel squads are doing more damage to your ships than you'd like? If it's the LATTER, we have articles that can help with that. If it's the former, well, then I can't help you. You need squadrons in the game, and playing without them isn't feasible across a long-enough tournament. I'm sorry you feel that way, but the rest of us like our squads without needing to dive too heavily into them?

If you want to continue your metaphor, what if the Imperials had a commander who let those termites contribute to fighting the scorpion or spider or whatever? And she made it so further attacks from the scorpion to spider were stronger because the spider was unable to defend itself as well? Congrats, try Sloan.

Especially considering that pile of sawdust by the fridge that does a much better job of showcasing the ant vs. termite battle, (X-Wing).

10 CR 90 Blisters, with Tax and Delivery, would be over $350 here.

If I had that sort of money in the first place, I would have spent it on sending my Special Needs Toddler to his Specialist school, who upped the cost of his Transportation by $600 this year. At which point, I wouldn't have to be spending my time Commission-Painting Armada Squadrons for people to raise said money. I'd be able to spend the time and enjoy myself painting my own.

I'm pretty sure your Armada Collection is larger than mine.

I do feel, on a personal note, that all your above statement has done has exposed how little attention you pay to a lot of people - I feel its not as like my financial circumstances (and the fact that I won't be able to afford Wave 6 anytime soon) has gone over -stated on these forums :)

It's kinda neither...

I run 5 squads in my typical fleet and if my opponent runs 5-6 themselves it's not that annoying, there's 10-12 squad activations a round, totaling like 30-50 a game depending how much dies...

It's that 5 squads no longer is a viable defense, this meta, even with the nerfs, which I love, is still slanted to squadron builds, as many people have stated about BCC not having it stack really isn't an issue, and since squads aren't limited by complicated movement mechanics in terms of efficiency, squads really do give you the best bang for your buck (especially now that sloane is on the horizon, even I'm building fleets with 120+ squads).

So for people like me, who couldn't give a crap about the hoards of nameless gnats floating about the battlefield, having to field 120+ in squads (or really anything over 40 points) just turns into a game of a hundred nothing annoying activations... 8 fighters vs 10 fighters is about 18 squad activations a round, presuming nothing dies too fast that's still something like 90-100 activations a game where I'm sitting in my chair screaming "I couldn't give a ****" in my head while smiling and adjusting dials....

it's exhuasting....

There just needs to be less of them... in my opinion anyways.... I'd rather just watch the spiders and scorpions kill each other....

See, i think 6 squads IS a viable defense mechanism. If you want to go light on those 6 squads, like i said, 6 Interceptors, flight controllers, and a quasar. Or 5 and Howlrunner. That's what, 131 points of your 400? Not bad, really. I mean, how are you PLAYING your 5-6 squads, what are you bringing?

http://cannotgetyourshipout.blogspot.com/2017/03/squadrons-encyclopedia-5-using-sfc.html

You don't HAVE to field 120+ in squads, but you can't get away with zero anymore; the last 3 waves have proved THAT for sure. But if you want to win with ships, you still have Raiders, Gladiators, ISDs, Interdictors, etc etc.

I've been told it's rude to even suggest such a thing. lol

Very careful and small change applied but I agree with this approach rather than going to fast and nerf to much to quickly.

Agree with every single change being made even thothey might not be enough to change the meta , the activation advantage provided by flotilla is still a problem.

My 5 ties, all generic, do fairly well all things considered. In combination with a JF Goz they can usually either eliminate a few and tie up the rest or hold squadrons off my ships long enough to get the job done. That's if the opponent is fielding a similar amount, 2-3 over especially if facing a rebel, who generally have more balanced fighters (IE: x-wings, I'm mad jealous the empire doesn't have an escort bomber around the same price...) and I get eaten alive then my ships get eaten alive...

Your points are all valid, but 131 points is a star destroyer... and that's where it starts to get even more annoying.... Now I can't bring an ISD because I have fighters which I couldn't give a crap about. I've got to change it to a smaller ship, well, the smaller ships don't have the physical stats I need, so I've got to use a different ship or even two even smaller ships... and before I long my fleet of ships no longer fits the design idea I had all because squadrons need more than 40 points to be useful against meta builds.

It snowballs.

Unfortunately there's no way to remedy my play style to where I'm having a good time and being competitive.

Which I appreciate you trying to reach that middle ground with me. lol but I've been playing since just before wave one released.... 100+ games... this discomfort is nothing new lol

I've mentioned before in other threads I'd prefer they made a mode of armada or even an entire other game that zooms the scale out a little further to turn squadrons into a passive mechanic.... that's about the only fix to my problem.

I still love armada, and I'll happily scream "I couldn't give a ****" in my head a billion times to play... but there are a few of us that would rather just play with ships and have squadron mechanics be less involved.

This thread is making my skin crawl.
