I wonder if this helps or hinders Imperials at the competitive level?

I like all the changes. And as a Demo player I don't think it bothers me that much. Still can go speed 3 and kill things lol. Probably over half my 2nd shots were prior to ET for the reposition. Skilled Rierkan players will not be bothered that much by this...although a good opponent can now use a kill priority to make the Rierkan player make some tough decisions. And I like the clarification to RLB. Rhymer although not crazy now would have been deadly with Sloane. Overall about time that this was placed. And no more lifeboats. Didn't bother me if people did that.

Did anyone mention that Demo ALSO can't be used after an engine techs granted move per page twelve?

One's an update to the Advice already given on Demolisher (page 12), but its also covered (directly) by the Errata on Page 1.

They're printed in house. They still could be

Rieekan is dead. He can save only one ship or squadron per turn.

TRC slightly nerfed.

Rhymer brutally nerfed, losing a whole range.

Demo also nerfed, but why? Who had issues with ET Demo? Not me, even when I suffered from it.

NO MORE LIFEBOATS?!?!?!?!? There goes my whole tournament fleet out of the window...

But at least RLB is clarified.

Anyway, I don't like these changes. Lifeboats, ok. Rhymer great. But why Demo and TRC?

Great FAQ...all much needed. Now we just need a fix for Relay and I will be happy.

I agree for the most part.

The biggest change is Rhymer and lifeboating:

  1. Rhymer because of the potential with Sloane and Tie Fighters.
  2. Lifeboating means you can ignore flotillas now

Demo is huge. You now have to start IN red range, so you will be subjecting yourself to some incoming fire. Where pre-FAQ, you could start outside of red range and still etech your way into a black range double arc.

surely, a big part of rhymes nerf had to do with Sloane?

I've used Rieekan and wholly support this nerf. Harsher than what I would have went with (Unique NAMED squadrons [so no Gold Squadron, etc.] and title equipped capital ships) but acceptable. The others are also well in line, unlike the bat they took to X-Wing last FAQ.

The real nerf here friends is the TRC nerf. That is going to be pretty huge.

I think Demo bears more responsibility in the activation arms race than the flotillas because Demo essentially steals an activation. This should help reign in the flotilla spam.

Really Blail, i'm having a hard time seeing how these nerfs support your calls for revolution.

Just like the 'same' Pelta list won worlds as you were talking about, really the only thing I see here that fixes your issues with the squadron meta is the BCC limitation.
