Zuckuss is up to his old tricks again...

... on the C-ROC.

If I'm interpreting the rules right, Huge Ships can't have stress tokens, and whenever one is assigned it is immediately discarded, which means that you can equip Zuckus to your C-ROC, activate him to force your opponent to reroll a bunch of defense dice, immediately discard all the stress you just picked up, and are free and clear to do it again next attack.

Also, I believe there's nothing stopping you from equipping IG-88D (crew) to your C-ROC and gaining access to a few pilot abilities, though technically IG-88A (regen a shield when you attack and kill something) is the only one that actually does anything for the C-ROC, so it's of limited value.

There's another thread discussing the Azmorigan/Jabba dilemma. Anybody notice any other crew-shenanigans or weird interactions on the C-ROC?

(And apologies if these have been pointed out before. If they have I missed them.)

Yeah, he still works on the CROC. That had been pointed out long ago, however at least his brokeness is limited to screwing up Epic. It won't be really bad though, until Scum get a corvette to spam a crapton of attacks with.

Keep in mind, this is the epic format. One player in our group used to bring a corvette and fired its primary weapon at 7 dice: 4 standard + 1 ability + 1 Finn + 1 Jan ors. Target lock from the Tantive and a focus used from Esege.

So with that in mind, having a 4 dice attack that can force a ship to reroll its defense dice is... pretty tame in comparison, especially since huge ships have an agility of zero and its a secondary weapon, so it won't affect opposing huge ships in the least. The Tantive configured above, however, stands a pretty good chance of destroying the C-Roc in one volley :P

As in what, it's OK if it's broken?

1) Eats up a super valuable crew slot on a Huge ship, which only:
2) Brings the CROC's firepower to be on par with majority of ships at excessively higher cost
3) If youre using a huge ship as a firepower workhorse you are playing huge ships wrong. They SUCK at offense, due to being action starved and inability to get focus tokens.

As for the C-roc can only shoot once per round, and huge ships are still eaten by TLTs, I see nothing wrong.

Mr Raider says hi to your C-Roc. And not in a nice way.

Yes

If I'm not mistaken, my response to this should be "This post is bad and you should feel bad."

Zuckuss on a Raider would be sick, that's why I was saying once the Scum get an epic corvette that has multiple attacks per round, there will need to be something done about him by then.

Depends on if the hypothetical warship has crew slots at all. If it only has teams, no problem.

That's my secret, I always feel bad.

Epic is a super casual format with no attempt at balance. Playing Epic you either have to not care about balance and enjoy the spectacle or work with your group to make house rules. If most players don't care, odds are good FFG doesn't either.

Wasting a valuable crew slot on your support epic ship just to improve its one combat seems more like a noob trap than a broken card

Apparently I didn't make my intent with this thread very clear. My bad.

I'm not trying to say that Zuckuss is broken in Epic- far from it. (In actuality I ran Zuckuss on a C-ROC the other day and he felt solidly... okay. Nothing more. Although I will say in response to the 7-die Corvette build mentioned above: That set up requires 3 separate ships +upgrades totaling... lets see... a minimum of 148 pts. Zuckuss on a C-ROC costs a minimum of 36. So... not really a fair comparison.)

Anyway, the goal of this thread was to point out odd interactions with the C-ROC, specifically with all the scum crew members out there. That's all. ;)

Ah, man, does that mean I can't pick a fight with Chumbadumba for taking a dump on Epic?

Not at all, be my guest! ;)
