[Mafia] Jedi Academy: Day 2

By Truthiness, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

So, lets do some maths. Gink is not going to be turbo lynched unless someone swings a vote, which I guess is still possible, but that would be pretty telling at this point. And possibly what he wants. Unless I have miss-read some posts, every time he "questioned" someone, they voted for him. Pretty easy to see. @BiggsIRL Ard vote was a wakeup call, as was mine on @Tirion , and Tirion's vote was retaliatory. We are waiting on @CaribbeanNinja and @Visovics , if they vote at all. So far, the only three votes that had pretty clear explanations were Ard, JJ, and Gink.

That about sum it up?

Actually I voted for him long before he questioned me.

Sorry, I was mistaken. There are alot of posts to read through and I lost yours. My apologies.

So my primary suspects right now are Gink (explained above and especially now with his weaksauce "I never talk to Tirion on the forums defense") Biggs ("Don't mess with Gink he is is so cool.") and now a little bit of Moodswing (holy crap he is all over the place) I'm gonna go back and check his votes.

I have told you to do nothing. It may seem like that as I have repeating your own words back at you. You told me to keep my word, essentially, ignoring the fact that I did, just not to your liking. You wanted me to rather quickly find a suspicious body and vote, rather than wait, read the posts, and vote when warranted, which is what I said I would do.

You keep saying one thing and do enough. I keep saying I'll vote if it's justified, you seem to always ignore the qualification

Declaring that its important to pressure players with proper votes (you said that not me), and then not voting. Again, you ignore the part 'if there's something there to pressue'. Randomly voting somebody can't be considered a pressure vote, as there's no reasoning behind it.

Its like you want stuff to happen without you having to get your own hands dirty in the process. As I told you before, I will when I consider it justified. I have no problem with voting, just randomly voting. It seems like there was no result because nobody said anything that set off a bell in my head, until you, gradually, over time.

He placed a joke vote as asked. No complaint from me for that. However he then unvoted after a stiff breeze from Biggs declaring joke voting to be a foolish excercise and we must all pressure with actual votes. Yes. Because I wasn't so much answering your request as mocking it. But when people didn't see it that way, I backed off in an attempt to make it clearer. Had I continued voting, it would've implied that I had had a reason, which at that time I hadn't.

He is declaring joke voting to be foolish, something he partaketh in of his own volition. And meanwhile declares serious voting to be a necessity and tries strongly to avoideth partaking. I do not 'try strongly to avoid partaking', see above. I repeatedly told you I have to have a reason, and you effectively brushed that part of my reponse away time and time again, then claim that I am not fulfilling my promise. My promise was not that I would vote, but that I would vote when and for whom I saw fit. I had yet to see fit for a while. It is ironic that you ended up beingthe most suspicious.

Why? Why would any sane member of town say stuff so contrasting to their own actions? This is the stuff politicians do. Again, I did not contradict myself. I contradicted the half of the sentence you bothered reading.

I am really perplexed as to what is so hard to understand about this. I joked and said so, somebody took me seriously, I unvoted to show that I wasn't serious, and now I'm suspicious? Please people, try and understand some sarcasm. I know it's tough, what with the communication medium being text, but still. . .

Cause I post 24 7 on this forum and never ever cross paths with Tirion. Similarly to how in at least a year of vassal tourneys I think I have spoken to JJ once.

Erm, if you post 24/7 then it's physically impossible for you not to cross paths with him.

I see no reason as of yet to move my vote from Ginkapo. However there are some folk that need to talk more or I'll swap votes and policy lynch a mute. There is a role known as silencer that can shut folks down but that requires a night action, and I don't see a reason to give such an ability a free day action . More likely Ard, who I know has a lot on his plate atm just as IRL stuff in the way. Not an excuse, but an explanation. Tirion, I need to hear more from. I don't need people to be crazy prolific, but I expect to hear from folks, at least occasionally.

If we simply dont hear from people, I'm ok with a day extension but in general I like to keep games moving along.

There were a couple of comments I wanted to respond to but I'll hit them in the AM.

So this is what I said. You then quoted the bold portion and responded with;

5 hours ago, Ginkapo said:

Why are you obsessed with trying to protect Ard and Tirion? This is at least the third time you have tried to suggest there might be a silencer. Is one of them your scum mate?

So, uhm, taken in context I think I was pretty clearly bringing it up again to discount it. Which is pretty much the opposite of defending the folks who had to that point been silent.

As for Ard, I'm simply aware he's busy irl atm. He is. Its just a factual statement.

But more than that, the comment is me saying I'm about ready to policy lynch them for being silent! Thats not defending people! Its literally the exact opposite of that.

So, I see such baseless, even moronic interpretations of comments made by the only person I can atm be sure is town, and I start to wonder. Basic possibilities arise;

1. Poor interpretation by a town player.

2. Scum with his head in the noose trying to deflect.

3. He's trying to get lynched.

He did say to Ninja there was twinkle in his eye, so maybe option 3 has something going, although it seems silly to tip your hand like that. His lack of defense continues to be problematic to interpret.

Ok train let out, and I have to prep for a trial. I'll be back.

Hmm, a lot to think about here. Gink is starting to look a lot more suspicious to me. It does seems, like others have pointed out, that he is interpreting the statements of almost everyone in a very...interesting...manner. GNiPs is starting to make me think he honestly is confused by our reaction to his early votes. I need to think some more on this.

[meta] Thanks for the extension! [/meta]

Now that is an interesting vote block on Ghost. Aligns almost perfectly with my list, as though inviting me to join the party.

Thats true.

But look, he's not wrong. Tirion is pacific, and gink is in the uk. Theres a 9 hour difference.

What will you do with that vote you've got... 'stached?

Wokka wokka wokka

ROFL!

Ok that's a lot of stuff to ponder on!

Gink seems VERY suspicious with his...unorthodox... reaction and is taking everything he quotes and changing its sense and context, so either he is reading it very badly or he is trying to subtly get the attention there to save himself. He is looking very scummy to me, but I won't cast the vote until we are all agreed on this, as I'll be putting him on L-2 otherwise.

I want you to be perma lynched D1 till you learn to play mafia. You offer nothing for people to get a read from making you a permanent liability.

Insults? You sound like the forum mods, and yet fail to read grammar where I havent actually insulted anyone.

Not all playstyles are your playstyle. There's no one right way to play mafia.

I'll refrain from further comment here, except to note that if this:

Odin and Ovin are just being Awol. Par for the course for both of them. Not a positive play ever, frankly its cowardly.

Was meant as a commentary on the behavior, and not the persons practicing the behavior, I was wrong on the insulting comment. As written, it could be taken to mean either.

However, my point is that a lot of you are playing to save your own skins. Why?

I am also saddened that only Biggs seems to understand what I am doing.

I'm certainly not playing to save my own skin. I don't really care whether I live or die. I'm just not in the habit of offering up substanceless posts just so that I can look like I'm doing something. Anyone with half a brain could see through that and see that all I have is fluff, so why even pretend? I contribute when I have something substantial to contribute.

And I couldn't care less what you say you're doing. I'm more than half-convinced that whatever it is is just a cover for scum-play anyways.

I don't really have much else to say.

Who do you need to hold your hand? Someone in particular that you trust on D1?

@GhostofNobodyInParticular - please tell me how you feel about @Madaghmire and @Onidsen . Particularly, what makes their votes feel trustworthy?

At this point in the day (12:00 vs 21:00) -2 isn't unheard of. If that's all that is keeping you from voting, put it on record.

Gink, are you bitter about the voting or you just really want to die Day 1? I hope for your sake you're a Idiot role that is getting very lucky.

1 minute ago, Ginkapo said:

A general agreement of everyone is what I want to wait for, we are after all, supposed to play as a team and not individuals looking to simply cast a vote and hope the person is lynched. Although, if you really want me to vote, I will

The town is divided between 2 decisions, I will cast my vote on you Gink if the consensus of the town is to go on him, otherwise I am just highly suspecting of him at this point

9 hours ago, Ginkapo said:

Why are you laying role breadcrumbs? Only scum do that.

I always breadcrumb, but I at least try to make it moderately difficult to figure out. Only when I claim for real I can go back to Day 1 posts and show I have been consistent in my claims all along.

If I did it right, it only becomes obvious in hindsight.

And yeah, I do it when I am scum as well, because when I am scum I try to play on Day 1 like I'd play if I was actually town. Even though apparently sometimes I am bad at doing so.

I have a feeling that they're votes are much like mine.

That is to say, that because Gink has repeatedly misinterpreted posts, often taking sentences out of context and complaining when people's action do not conform to his edits, he starts a 'bell' ringing in the back of my head. I know not what the reasoning was for either Mad or Onidsen, except so far as they have posted here. To that extent, I feel they are getting the same 'vibe' from Gink as I am.

I feel that they are likely town, as far as I can tell Day 1. Their votes are trustworthy in so far as they are thinking what I am thinking about Gink, see above.

I am really beginning to feel like gink wants to be lynched. I've said it a few times now, and I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe otherwise. Does idiot winning end the game, or just make it so he wins regardless of who else also wins?

Also my reasoning for the initial vote of gink, as well as now leaving it alone, is on record.
