Two questions.

1) can you remove the target lock from yourself?

2) do you remove the TL before you boost the ship or after?

Yes you can be friendly and at Range 1 of yourself, so you can remove the TL from yourself. If the card said " another friendly ship... ", then it would not include your ship.

And the card says, " After you perform a boost... ", so it's boost first, then remove TL.
