Trust Your Instincts

Rules question: Can I play "Trust Your Instincts," on my opponents character?

No. You have to Spot a blue character, and you can't spot your opponents characters.

Thanks for the clarification.

You can't spot any blue character? You sure? It has been a while since I did a read through refresher with the rule book.

You are on the website where the full blown rules are. It's only a few clicks away.....

SPOTTING (p21)
Some cards require a player to spot a specific game element in order to use its ability. To spot an element, a player must have that element in play. Most cards just require a player to spot a character of a specific color.
Example: Use the Force (r149) says “Spot a Blue character to turn a die to any side” You must have an undefeated Blue character on your team, or the card does nothing.
bullet.jpg A player cannot spot their opponents’ characters or cards, unless the card explicitly says so.
bullet.jpg If a player is not able to spot the required element, then the card does nothing.

Awesome!!! It is so typical how much stuff get's missed with the first few readings. Then we just start playing and seldom look back. Of course we only play at home.

Yes I am aware of that nismojoe. But thanks for the subtle hint to read my own rules before I make goofy comments. LOl

Honestly, I can see where confusion arises with this one. I've taught a lot of new people the game, and they very frequently don't get this one because it's not in the rules sheet and the word "spot" isn't very clear. I was the second post in the Community FAQ thread, so I'll add this one to my post there.
