question about rules.

By ATM2100, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

recently we have encountered a problem. I am having trouble finding a rule that says something like spaces separated by black lines are not adjacent. I know they block line of site, and that black lines in imperial assault aren't adjacent, but... I... Can't... find it in Decent. two things i want, 1, how do you play it and 2, what have you found in the rules about this?

definitely a useful tool, love it, and i am sorry, but in this case, it isn't what i want. This seems stupid to me but a player i play with seems to think you can move through black lines. frustrating.

Ok, then, well here's this:

Base rules, page 5, bottom right. There is a "map tile breakdown". Item 5 clearly identifies black lines as things that cannot be moved through.

Base rules, page 10, top right. There is an "adjacent spaces" diagram. This one basically just shows that spaces diagonal across a corner ARE adjacent.

Page 3 of the official FAQ (v1.6) found on the FFG site contains this unambiguous gem:

Q: Are spaces that are separated by a wall (edge of a map tile) adjacent to
each other?
A: No, spaces that are separated by a wall (the black edge of a map tile) are
not adjacent nor are they in line of sight to each other. Although the two
spaces technically share a corner, the wall blocks both movement and line
of sight between the two spaces on either side.

Hopefully, that's enough to convince your stubborn player.

he was not so stubborn as to stop playing, we continued as if we was incorrect, but i believe that that will be enough. thank you.
