Radio TCX is the best. Very professionally done.
Better podcasts wanted
Krayt has gone way up on content, which seems a surprise to everyone, including them. Maybe worth another try.
Radio TCX stays on point and does good stuff.
Hell of a Pilot is a fun show.
512 Squadron does a good job of meta coverage.
OCX and Hornet Squadron are becoming new favorites, quickly.
Lots of options.

Yeah Krayts are getting better in content, but man the audio was so bad on last week's episode. I couldn't listen for more than 30 seconds. Hopefully, it was just a one time thing.

Why that is fun when your with your friends, when your not there it is not fun and really quite boring. Also I have kids and we listen to some of the podcasts when driving. I know some foul language happens, but some of those in the casting business use it all the time, and really foul language for no reason just makes you sound very unintelligent. Most these types of casts just love to hear themselves talk. You can usually tell because if they host games they have a camera on the game and one of themselves too. Not the dice box, but themselves, because they like to see themselves. I have stopped listening to many of them also because some of them are just a waste of time, and really don't even cover content of the game. Which is why I started listening to them in the first place.
As for Patreon, I used to help alot, but now most of them want per show payments. While previously they might have done one or two shows a month. Now they are add all sorts of other nonsense, like fan discussion or their thoughts and sometimes totally useless stuff so they can get paid more.
sounds like your listen to the Krayt's a lot, even the Mynocks have been getting a tiny bit off the rails lately. Gold Squadron and TCX are for sure my favorites for actual content. Mynocks actually got decent content too, but are also entertaining. Kryats are purely for entertainment if you like their humor and presentation. I like to listen to them for a laugh, and everyonce in a while they got good stuff. The recent discussion they had on mindlink was pretty good actually.
As for Pateron, I support Gold and Mynocks, but I think I'll be dropping Mynocks right away...

I'll need to try that one ?

Why dropping Mynocks off? To me they seem to be adding more recently to make their patterns feel their money is worth it. I'm thinking of dropping Gold Squadron down to the lowest level to be honest simply because they have so much content now I'm gonna go broke lol
Edited by Tbetts94Just make your own. Apparently everyone else is. Now I guess I know what I'm doing with my summer off.

GS is still only 2 a month (unless I'm missing something)
but Mynocks are 4-5 a month and I'm at the $4 tier. I'm not feeling the money is worth it personally.

I think Gold is charging each time they do one of those community question things and such, at least one of the above posters mentioned that and I just assumed lol. I don't like looking at my credit card...
Radio TCX is a great podcast. Weekly updates, from 2 non-obnoxious guys without a bunch of terrible soundboards etc. They talk about new spoiler articles, new releases, potential metas for upcoming tournaments, actual metas post tournament and they also quite often interview people who have done well at tournaments. I really appreciate that the episodes are around half an hour too.
radio TCX is the right answer.

Sorry about the content, will do our best to cut that down. Audio cable gave me some horrible noise on the line, but I figured it was better to just push it out last week. Should be better this week, let me know if it isn't!

The money won't ever be "worth it", because it's a donation to them! If you're worried about the cost/benefit ratio of it, it's probably just better to not be a patreon so you don't feel like you're being cheated.
While they don't put out content at the rate of many podcasts, Stay on Target is a great cast with solid content. Radio TCX is great, one of the best podcasts going right now. S&V and Mynocks have been off their game a bit as of late, but I still enjoy both greatly.

GS at least has a constant steady flow of swag, and swag updates. Mynocks... not so much.

I just got my Omega Leader in the mail. Probably took about the same amount of time for my first Gold Squadron swag.
The Kessel Run will always remain Patreon free. I know why others do it, and I don't think any of them the less for it, but the moment you begin accepting money from others you start having obligations. Obligations that you may not be able to provide. You also may be forced to change YOUR show the way YOU want to do it so you can keep the "money" flowing in.
The Kessel Run (and all the other shows) do shows just like what you are asking for, its just lately, the shows that participate in the competitive portion of the game have been on a competitive tear. There hasn't been any downtime to talk about more casual topics until recently. Just keep listening to those that you want to and you will get the content you are looking for.
If a show that releases weekly does these topics, it will run out of topics quickly... you can only talk about ship building and beginner tips for so long. The secret of x-wing (in a competitive mindset) is to seeing patterns and begin guessing what your opponents will do based on the board state. We all talk about it as much as we can, and is really difficult to extrapolate that from a visual to the auditory and then you to apply back to the visual.
But we do appreciate the shout-out. The Kessel Run will continue bringing the Xwing content in a fun way, because WE are having fun. As soon as we stop is when it stops being fun. But we are expanding out horizons. We just live-streamed one of our local Store Champs events, and now we are bitten by the video bug, so (time-permitting) we plan to bring you that visual to visual content many people want while still giving everyone the audio you've come to expect and enjoy!

I've been a supporter of the GS patreon from the beginning. They only "charge" for the actual episdoes. I've never been charged for more than 2 GS episodes in a month. Mynock last month was more painful with 5 episodes, but they were all actual episodes, just worked out since they do weekly that the day of the week they release no came 5 times in may.

Mynocks patreon is basically brand new, I think June (charging for may) was the first time they've gotten any money from it. And I just got my Omega leader alt art (with a mynock patch as well) in the mail a couple days ago.

Mynock Squadron Podcast. Once a week for about a year. PG-13, rare foul language. Dee likes to hear himself talk...a lot. We shamelessly ask for your money....well ****...forget I said anything
I just want to point out that we've been working extremely hard for Patrons to feel like they're getting their money's worth. We've been able to do slightly longer episodes again, and I just put out our first article 5000 words on Lockdown. I say it in our Patreon page that weekly podcasting is really really difficult, but I want to fight to provide worthwhile content.
We're not as concise as TCX, as smart as Nova, nor as entertaining as the Krayts. We enjoy doing the Mynock Podcast because we want to give quality advice as well as give you guys something enjoyable to listen to.
The feedback I've seen already has been very helpful. It's actually weird to see people say we've been "off the rails" lately. I think we were ALWAYS off the rails lol.
You don't need to be a Patron to support us. I value every single listener the same, and honestly feel blessed to have as many listeners as we do. I've made so many friends doing this that it just makes me want to work harder at it.
In regards to OPs question,
But Radio TCX, 186th, Barons, Imperial Propaganda, and the newcomers in OCX Radio are all good options. Honestly there are too many to keep up with for me to always listen to all of them but I try (yeah Kessel Run I see that shade you're throwing our way

Mikhail here from Stay on Target...thanks for the kind words! We're going to start becoming more regular with our shows again- been a busy season for all the hosts! In fact, tune in for a new episode tomorrow!
We try to focus on content and see things in a positive light with X-Wing. We're also the G-rated, Disney princess friendly, cuddly bear podcast. For better or for worse.
I'm also a personal fan of Mynocks and TCX. Solid work from both of those groups. Even if Dallas beat me at Worlds. Not salty about that at all.
TCX is solid. Pound for pound, probably the best info & insight at the moment.
Hot on their tail are new kids on the block: the Birmingham Barons .
Hell of a Pilot are fun, and have good segments. They are a new favorite of mine. I believe they release every other week.
These are some that are relatively new (to me) and often have meaningful discussions:
Hornet Squadron Radio
- pretty straight forward podcast; not gimmicky, which I appreciate.
OCX Radio
- Iowa based podcast. They're new so I feel the podcast is still trying to find its own voice. But there's no cackling & swearing for the sake of cackling and swearing.
Cloud City Radio
- UK podcast that I just came across last week. So far I like their analysis.
Stele TV's channel on YouTube! Aaron's been putting out a show with me and Ira talking on it. It's got a lot of Imperial Assault content, as well as X-Wing.

One minute a worlds prep show with no worries at all and then nothing ...
I know I quit listening to them when they started to get political. I wanted to hear about X-wing, not what's going on in the news. I have plenty of other sources for that.
You already listen to shuttle Tyderium so that's about the extent of my knowledge of the other podcasts.
I know slingpaint gaming on youtube has some good discussions.
