Yay FAQ finally out!!!!

By Gazery, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

Haven't had chance to read it yet, but I was so excid I just had to shout it from the roof-tops.

*should say excited*

Thank the gods, no more whining for a FAQ. I'm glad its here just so I can stop hearing about it.

Well... you may be jumping the gun. A lot the official rulings from Nate were wrapped up into this FAQ but some of them have been slightly altered or flat out reversed. I suspect there will be some ranting and raving and finger-pointing, along with some jeering as some players previous interpretations that had been ruled incorrect are now correct and visa versa.

I've read the entire FAQ though and it definitely helps to clear things up. I say we have at best to the end of this week before someone starts complaining about the FAQ not being FAQ-y enough. And I'm being generous about that 4 days.

I hoped it would be lass FAQ and more game ruling. The greatswords ist just stated how it works on this card. Was there a part that explained "do first, then look for effects" I missed?

I find it somewhat amusing that the FAQ contains more pictures than text.lengua.gif I expected somthing flashy (it is FantasyFlight after all), but its borderlining exessive. But i'm sure the content / graphics ratio will change as they add stuff.happy.gif

I have a question that has not been answered in the FAQ: How hard does Chaos suck due to new rules and the third battlepack?'.

Is it just me or more people ask themselfs that question? It was impossible for me to win with chaos against any other race (yet, being relly succesful with playing empire and dwarfs, so it's not that i have no skill in this game). After shrine to nurgle works now only with combat damage i see it very unusual situation that i can corrupt more than 2 - 3 units a turn (and only if i sacrifice my units and use tactics). i still play only with skavenblight and 1 core set (buying more core sets is stupid for me, i don't wanna spend all my money on a card game. just want to play the game balanced out of the box). When i see what cards the other races get and compare them to chaos it's just like = lol. Maybe i'm doing something wrong, please tell me, but i tried almost anything and i think that chaos sucks. it has great spells but their useless when church of sigmar or bright wizard enters the play. units? mosty low HP, and die after every attack or defend. Against orks? orkz have more firepower and chaos is not a defense race. against empire? i said it. against dwarfes? sometimes i see it equal. My question is: How should Chaos be played? And PURE Chaos. I don't like mixing races.

For us, 1x Core and first two BPs, Chaos is currently #1 in win-loss. TBH, I haven't seen Shrine + Pestilence combo played that often, so its loss is not a great one for us.

Secondly, reading the cards more carefully might also help gui%C3%B1o.gif . Bright Wizard can't stop Tactics, his ability works against "...just triggered by another unit or support card." And even then once per turn and only Actions, not Forceds.

We're playing mono-races, using all the cards available to each race. Then, the non-aligned Neutrals get added in randomly (all but Infiltrate Quest), shuffle and play. Since the combination of boxes doesn't have each race with the same # of cards, firstly random Neutrals used to even numbers (Orcs have 52, Dwarves 50, Chaos & Empire 49 cards), then add the rest. This setup is used for majority of the games (some have seen DElfs, HElfs or Skaven added, but very few), with the following win-loss:

Chaos: 23-16
Dwarves: 17-22
Empire: 18-21
Orcs: 20-19

Chaos was struggling after the first BP, but surged mightily with the second. Same for Dwarves.

Thank to the new ruling Pestilence became a near useless card, and the same true for the Shrine too.

And if you compare the "new" Shrine to Nurgle to Keystone Forge (which is very usefull) or Shrine to Taal (which is a real centerpiece in decks) than it become a real joke for the same cost. I'm very unimpressed by chaos cards... they neary always have to use more cards or resources than ther opponent for the same power.

Aaaah, yes... You are right. Sometimes I'm forget what has been excatly written on a card. So many games I played in fear of the Bright Wizard Apprentice. :P My opponent used this card wrong, cancelling even forced effects and tactics.

And if you were to remove some Chaos cards and add those from BPs what would you choose?

Sadly, I still have only 1 BP, but the second one is shipping to Poland this week. Yet, when i look at the spoiler list of the third BP i feel like chaos is again underpowered. maybe i judge it too early, without even playing it, but chaos seems to me lacking some tough, high hp and dmg units. Can you tell me what is the build order of Chaos? I know it depends on the opponent, but should i rather focus on kingdom, battlefield or quest zone?

I'm just having the same impression. Even without pestilence it was still possible to corrupt with flames of T. or some units' skills, like the one of chosens. Now I can barely corrupt 2 units, only thx to that 0 cost tactic.

Remove cards sorpresa.gif ? Remove??? We play purely casual, so deck-building is kept at minimum. While we play mono-race decks, still want to use all the cards available.

Culling the Weak gets "meh" verdict generally from me, with the new ruling, Pestilence would probably only be used vs Orcs.

Haven't really thought about the third BP yet, the FAQ stuff bummed me out.

As for builds, I still want Savage Marauders in my starting hand if possible. Mulligan is they are not in there (unless the hand is otherwise really, really good). If you get them them to KZ, next turn you'll have 5 Resources. Drop something more into KZ as well as into QZ (Chaos has several Units with abilities that only work there). Neutrals come in handy here.
