X-Wing 2.5: Scum and Bombany

Still waiting on that Kylocepter with some new ability that allows it to survive the alphas and dodge bombs/not die immediately to stress.

SFs have been doing very well in the current meta across store champs it seems

Thryre no kylocopters but theyre from the same timeline :P

As for bombs...well you try bombing something that never has to get behind you? It's actually a lot harder

But SF are basically imperial ARCs so i love em too much

His pilot ability will be to move objects when he activates. Ship title will allow him to freeze missiles and torps in place like the laser bolt in the movie. It's going to be awesome. And I'm sure it will only have 2 attack dice and 2 hull. And probably somehow be able to be piloted by other factions.

The Scuurg (can I call it the Huuurg?) really highlights the X-Wing's plight. I know, this isn't yet another 'buff the X-wing' thread, but looking at the stats, it jumped out at me.

The Base Scuurg is 3 points more expensive than the base x-wing. For those three points you get:
-1 PS;
-1 agility
+5 HP (+2 hull, +3 shield)
Barrel roll.
Turret, crew, missle, and 2 bomb slots.
A comparable dial.

I know which one I'd prefer.

Sooooo, something like "Once per round, you may prevent a friendly bomb token from detonation" ? He's freezing the bomb in place, just like in the movie.

Pretty much exactly Nyms ability and rebels will probably get to fly him too since Rey is going "dark" and he will switch back to the "light". But it should be all bombs and missiles and torps.

Rebel TIE/in FO confirmed, with Sabine as 2nd pilot. Add a crew slot and bombs to the rebel version because why the **** not.

I'm not so sure about this, this could make the game less about the game concept of, "take control of powerful Rebel X-wings and nimble Imperial TIE fighters!" What the hell is this game turning into anyway? No casual fan will have a f***ing idea what this game is when they see these ships being played at the LGS, no idea.

Ace combat is 100% dead if they face this guy. Not even defenders could weather that crap long enough to take his 10hp fat butt down since he also *gasp* can BARRELROLL to dodge your arc! And since he uses a turret, doesnt care if he lost his arc too.
Move, drop bomblets via Genius, barrelroll if needed otherwise TL/Focus - bomb blows up, Nym ignores it since friendly bomb, enemy ship rolls 2 red dice for damage from bomblet, Nym follows up with unavoidable 2 hits.
He's PS10....

What the flippin balls is this? This hard counters soooo much crap its not even funny! And its cheap enough to still bring decked out Dengar!

Hm. Made even better if you have Cad Bane in your list elsewhere!

You better have some beefy ships to attack him with if you're flying Aces. I've gotten better at dealing with Miranda, while flying Parattanni, so this would be similar: Everyone not named Fenn in your squad forces an engagement on the Anti-Ace ship, while Fenn hangs back for one extra round (or two) generating focus tokens. It's manageable vs PS8 Miranda, but vs PS10 Nym would be more challenging. On the flip side, Nym dies much faster -- he's only got one more hit point, but no regen.

Tell me about it. Currently in the #2 spot on the ladyluck leaderboards for a game I played with Whisper/Stealth Device OL...

Oddly enough if I'd had even average reds I likely would have pulled it out, but sometimes the dice gods are just grumpy.

He has his own counters, though. Ion Damage seems like it should ruin this guy's day. Kylo Ren crew can tag him with a Damaged Cockpit to force him to PS0. And while the Accuracy Corrector will let him reserve his token for defense, he's still only one agility with 10 HP. He'll melt quickly under focused fire if you're not careful.

I'd still put Adv. Sensors on Nym over Accuracy Corrector. It plays much better with PS10 and Genius IMO.
