With EaW, we can now run a starting deck with 5 die with Ezra, Maz and Rey.
eEzra, eMaz, Rey (5 Starting Die)
Yes, I think that was pretty much everyone's first reaction.
Let's take a look at this:
Opening dice layout:
4: 1R
2: +2R
1: 1M
1: +2M
4: Focus
2: Disrupt
1: Discard
2: Shield
5: Resource
1: +1 Resource
2: Special
5: Blank
A little over 26% of your dice show damaged (though mixed type and 3 of 8 possible damage sides are modified values).
Another 20% of the dice sides are resources and each of Maz's dice have a 33% chance of rolling a focus. Support and upgrade dice should do well in this deck.
On the down side, the dice themselves are all over the place and the initial damage output is far too low. This team would need to get big upgrades out quickly. Also, even with 3 characters, this team is only sporting 25 combined health. It would need to contain the opponent's damage output and be able to drop an opposing character quickly to stand a chance.
Would this deck be fun? Sure? expensive blue and yellow cards could find a home in this deck. I don't think it would fair well against agro decks though.
- eEzra, eMaz, Rey
- eEzra, Maz, eRey
- Ezra, eMaz, eRey
Not sure what team is better, just noting the 3 possible 5-dice teams

There are more!
•Same three as above, but substituting Snap for Rey
•eEzra/eSnap or eRey/8 cost non-unique
I think eRey is superior to eSnap for the simple fact that eRey gives access to Blue Upgrades which can play on Ezra and Rey. Also +2 Health. But time will tell.
Is it wrong that what interests me far more is this means we're likely to see a Villain 5 dice deck? And on point with the hero vs villain divide, it's probably going to be a much more streamlined deck unless it's a melee character (then again, a 12 point Elite character would make Grievous very happy, so I guess it's a win-win either way?).
The combo I'm looking forward to trying with the 5-dice-start is eRey/eEzra/Hired Gun. It may not be great, but Hired has a touch more health and potential damage to deal is way higher than Maz. Plus Ezra's special helps Hired a bit.
As said previously, if they can't get some key upgrades quickly, their low health will show...no matter the combination. I still like the idea of more options and ways to start, so this will definitely get some casual play at home.
My thought on this is ERey/eEzra/Padawan, use the padawan to get out cheap weapons then use that battlefield that allows you to move upgrades to move weapons off the padawan later if need be, Ezra can use Force ability upgrades which include abilities like Force push which can help his + range side, but really he is there in this deck for the yellow splash and the potential resources I would think, since padawan already wants to abuse resources.... and he can still get the blue upgrades, Other decks that will love him are all the 20 point characters with range damage.

Though i feel like putting most blue only hero upgrades which are expensive onto ezra is a trap at 7 hp. Maybe you can justify 2 cost ones but thats only force heal.
eEzra/eRey/Padawan
Some blue upgrades got ranged damage (Force Training, Force Throw, HandMade Bow) - that is scary.
I think single dice Ezra will almost always be the right pick. 10 points for 7 health is abysmal.
Not that 11 points for 8 health is that much better.
10 points for 2 dice and 7 health is probably slightly better than 9 points for one dice and 7 health... poor jedi acolyte.

He is yellow - meaning second chance is a go. Now you even have force illusion to pair with SC to keep him alive even longer.

But something like "One With the Force," Ezra dies, and now I still have a solid support. Also, Second Chance. But I think he is a good target for OWTF.
The problem with putting expensive upgrades on him is that a lot of decks will be able to kill him before he ever gets the chance. 7 damage is definitely in range for some decks to kill turn one without too much trouble.
This is what I am using and it's working perfectly for me. Erey Emaz and Ezra and here is why. Most people will be smart enough to kill off Rey first she is the most dangerous and needs to die so it gives inventive to put things such as force heal which is stellar in the deck onto Ezra then it is making Ezra more of a target getting pressure off Rey maz is working beautiful for me because you active her and get that two instant dice which is great for the deck. I am also running this deck as a support/upgrade primary deck so my turns take a while but everything seems to mesh.
