The artisan has a talent which adds hard points to anything, what do petite do with those hardpoints? What attatchments are useful for non-weapons?

Weapons, armor, and ships are the only things with hardpoints as far as I'm aware. Although ships aren't considered equipment so follow different hard point rules.
So artisan has a talent that gives hp to anything you repair or modify.
Nothing stipulates it has to be armor, weapons or ships.
I guess I could look at the armor and see if anything might apply, if you can mount a weapon on armor I guess you can mount a weapon on to some goggles or a data pad.

The talent (Intuitive Improvements) can add up to 2 hard points to any non-star ship or non-vehicle item. So, you cannot add hard points to a star ship or vehicle with this talent.
Yes you're absolutely right.
Off the top of my head, going through the weapon attachments, I could see the following work well on certain pieces of non-weapon gear. Anything like it is total GM fiat, of course
- Environmental Adaptation Kit
- Gene Lock
- Integrated Scanner
- Magnetic Tether
- Multi-optic sight
- Optimized Energy Cell
- Stripped Down
- Signature Reduction
I could also see the following armor attachments working on certain pieces of gear.
- Ion shielding
- Self-repair systems
- Threat monitor
- Tracking system
- VX hands-free weapon
Again, this is all house rule territory, since IMO the talent in question is designed to add harpoints to items that can benefit from attachments. But if your GM wants to take suggestions like this into consideration, then you might have a reason to add hardpoints to items that aren't weapons or armor
One could make an argument that anything that you could bash someone's head with is at least an improvised weapon and thus the weapon attachments are applicable.

You would have to wack someone with ig88 before you installed a cumbersome attachment on ig88
I was wondering about this very thing the other day but I couldn't come up with any concrete examples. I was just trying to think of things that make he regular item work better, or give it another function.
- Macrobinoculars - Tracking Module, Atmosphere Filter Module
- Enviro Suit - EV Pack (Extends operational life of Enviro Suit from 8 hours to 72 hours)
Also having enhanced tools might be good for spies or specialized droids.
