How Would cunning interact with Ig88
Iggy's special still refers to his own discard pile, and you can't ever play an opponent's cards, so I guess you can't use Iggy's special with Cunning, if your opponent is the one with Iggy. If you are the player controlling Iggy, you can definitely use it though.
But if let just say a guvain used the cunning the upgrade still goes on ig88 correct?
Edited by nakalaI don't think the YOUR in there would be the owner's graveyard. You resolve the special as if it was your special, so it would pull from your discard.
For example you can't use Cunning on your opponent's Sith Holocron because it would come back to YOUR hand, which you can't do.
Of course the upgrade would get placed on IG-88 so there's really no reason to use it unless it's your own IG-88.
Also, if the YOUR did mean theirs, there is nothing that says you can't play your opponent's cards, just that they can't be in your hand.
Edited by netherspirit1982See the card reads that the upgrade goes on this character so I see I no way would cunning be used by an opponent any how's unless they want to give iggy a free upgrade

Exactly, while it's possible, there's likely not a benefit to doing it unless it's your own IG-88.
There's ALMOST a reason to do it... Just like moving an upgrade to a full character with Cargo Hold, if IG-88 already had 3 when you did it then they'd then have to discard one. In this case it wouldn't really work since they get to choose, and they'd just choose to discard the one you gave them.
I can see a few REALLY convoluted corner cases where this might be beneficial, but they're so fringe they might as well not exist.
But then who pays the resource cost for such maneuver? Since if you replace an upgrade you can recycle the cost of a previous upgrade
So in clarification if it was read literally If I cunning IG88 I play an yellow weapon equipment from my discard on IG88 and this is allowed because there is nothing specificly say I can't have my card on an opponents character, I just can't have an opponents card in my hand
So in a situation I have no resources left to use and I choose a 3+ upgrade and the opponent has a fast hands and a halocrons on ig and an upgrade that's 1+ how would a situation like this resolve?

Hrm. That's a fair point - I was thinking about the Cargo Hold/full example, didn't hit me that you're actually playing it directly.
You'd definitely pay the cost. And you can choose to replace anything on the character whether they're full or not. So you could play (say) your On the Hunt to replace one of the upgrades on IG-88, discarding it? Maybe?
Who the controller is on certain things is very fuzzy in Destiny, as are what actions are limited to the controller. This one is super weird, because Cunning makes IG-88 yours, but not necessarily the other upgrades on him, so can you replace them?
Here's to Cunning - the best card in the game at exposing the shallowness of Destiny's rules!
