It's Quiet...

I want some more daqan only upgrades.

Didn't the Spearmen expansion seem kinda like a waste? At least the Reanimates came with lingering dead.

They were there only for Tempered steel and Raven Tabards.

I know eh? What's up with combat ingenuity, lingering dead, and no Daqan only cards yet.

We'll get piercing strike, but didn't thr death knights also have a waiqur card? Are humans so uninspiring they get to do nothing unique?

Well crossbowmen have a unique equipment too.

Yes, piercing strike, as mentioned. Or whatever the 3 distance MS thing is piercing something.

Piercing Strike is a training upgrade.

Shiny! Good catch (I often find that colour variations on the card backs a bit subtle for me.

I wonder if taking Piercing Strike on Oathsworn would be worth it. Make them more effective vs armored targets.

With tempered steel, could be devastating.

It'll depend on where your local meta goes. Once these Carrion Lancer and Rune Golem packs go out, you might see more armies focusing on high armor. Also once death knights hit the shelves, the Oathsworn could use it to bring them down to their level defense-wise. So yeah, by the time this upgrade comes out, I definitely think it will be relevant.

i wager once we can buy stand alone large models being able to apply mortal strikes will be important. Having more than 2 golems or lancers atm is unusual for most people.

A single tray, or even a pair, of rune golems isnt that hard to deal with. Two of them? meep.... ive noticed if they manage to avoid being the frontal assault (thus getting hit first) they can be brutal seeing as how aside from that deathball your spearmen slammed into, not much can hurt the golems reliably other than Mortal Strikes. And of course, being in a pair allows wind runes which solves their lack of mobility by a large margin.

Not sure why the spearmen didnt get a daqan-only upgrade, but then again what do they need? Theyre pretty dang solid as is. The upcoming Piercing card i dont think i'd want on them since they mainly slam into reanimates and that feels like a waste for a single mortal strike on your large ball of models. Cavalry on the other hand would love that card

Also i somehow never noticed the faction cards were tinged slightly with a color.

Well of course spearmen are not going to use Piercing strike since they can't take training upgrades.

Every time I see the title of this thread, I think of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze.

Runewars is spoiled when it comes to articles.

Oh Im well aware. I was just hoping we'd keep being spoiled... at least until we get the first four factions established

I just got a job offer. All I need now is the Uthuk announcement article and this will qualify as one of the best days ever!

The classic paradox... Job = money for miniatures, but no time to paint. No Job = plenty of painting time, but no miniatures! Congratulations though! :)

Child: Has time and energy, but no money
Adult: Has money and energy, but no time
Elderly: Has time and money, but no energy

The neverending cycle....
