Help Me Please!

I'm confused about C3PO. Rules reference says

C-3PO (30)

  • C-3PO does not allow you to resolve the die without paying its resource cost, nor does he allow you to ignore modifiers.

  • C-3PO can turn other dice into specials, at which point the value of the die does change to 0.

This doesn't really explain something (I think). If I have a modified side like +2 ranged showing, and I got a normal ranged side somewhere on that die, can I resolve the die for two normal damage? Also, if the side I am "turning" it into has a cost, do I have to pay it?

If the die has a modifier on it, you cannot use c3p0's ability to resolve it.

C3p0's ability is not a focus. He does not allow you to turn a die.

I'm not sure what you are asking about the 2nd question because you posted the answer to your question.

C-3PO is often misunderstood, so I'll copy what I said in another thread:

If you have Diplomatic Immunity in your pool showing a 4-shield side, and a C-3PO die, these are your options:

resolve as four melee damage

resolve as four ranged damage

resolve as four resource

resolve as four disrupt

resolve as four discard

resolve as four focus

resolve as a special (value of zero)

since Diplomatic Immunity has no special, it does absolutely nothing with this last option.

Essentially, the symbol, modifier and cost are separate parts of the die face. It ONLY changes the symbol; as such you can't resolve a modifier by itself and you still have to pay the cost, as per the normal rules.

Oops thanks, I was thinking about 3-PO wrong.
