I'm planning to bring this list to a local tournament but I'm concerned about the fighter screen. Any thoughts on that?

There isn't much fat to trim to boost your fighters but Foresight could be a torpedo variant. Look at reinforced blast doors in place of Waylex and maybe Lando.

Dropping Tycho for Jan would keep the X-Wings alive a bit longer by lending braces and Intel keeps you moving to hunt down bombers that threaten your killer ships.

What is the concern you have with the fighter screen?

YT escorts are sorta slow to keep up with the A-wing Aces. I don't think you can ditch enough/any ship upgrades to add another fighter or take one of the X-wings up to an ace. You have the points to drop both X-wings for two generic A's and a Z-95.

I like this but Tycho has intel built in to chase down bombers breaking off.

I definitely disagree on Lando: damage prevention is far more valuable for the MC30 than repair.

In my experience MC-30s need damage mitigation more tuan repair. By the time you could use RBD you're already in big trouble and can save you for one more round tops.

I really would like to find points for a strategic squadron to add some great versatiliyt to my possible objectives.

On Foresight: I don't eant to give up red dices because the fleet will become a sitting duck against TRC fleets and Star Destroyers at long range. Plus Forelin from long range can still deal damage and get rid of a monster 5 damage (discard 2 doubles woth Foresight, reduce 1 by Derlin).

I've never liked speed 3 fighters with mc30s as I tend to leave them behind, what about a bit of speed 4 sniping instead of the x wings.

I have run/am running a very similar fleet in tournaments but with a bid about 10 - 12 points lower. Maybe go all A-Wings for the screen (Shara and Escort dont work) and i agree with Madcat on dropping to Torps.

Maybe put Mothma on Forelin - its arguably the safest ship, maybe more so on a Scout (i like your 5 dam mitigation logic) plus if Mothma goes, your MC30s lose so much. A turn three hit on her flotilla could be disastrous.

Of course, depending on when the tournament is... You might have to move Mothma anyway, now.

I agree, but what if you allowed damage through to the hull early whilst most of the shields are up?

You really really really want a higher bid

In the local meta I really don't, players are playing with extremely low bid here. On my last tournament I had the same bid and had the lower bid in all of my matches. Playing anywhere else, you're right of course. But I don't really know where to cut other than reducing one Scout to Torpedo.
