I'm looking at this pilot skill and setup and I'm wondering if I can do this:

Because of the ability to add an elite pilot slot to take 2 EPT's I want 1 to be VI and the other to be PTL. Pilot ability says " After you perform a focus action or are assigned a focus token, you may perform a free boost or barrel roll action."

Does this mean that during activation I could execute a maneuver, perform a focus action which triggers the pilot skill, take a free barrel roll or boost action due to the pilot skill, and have that free action then trigger PTL to take 3 actions in one turn and then take 1 stress token?

Yup!

A-Wings are great! Take him and Psycho Tycho for a romp. Great fun.

Just remember that the free action from PtL must be from your action bar which would only leave target lock, evade and maybe boost (if you didn't already).

That's exactly how it works. The standard Jake these days is PTL + title + VI + Autothrusters + Proton Rockets for a tidy 33pts.

So with moldy crow title I could also get a 4th action if used in the proper sequence, since assigning a focus token is additional to taking a focus action?

Err wait, he would already be stressed by that point with PTL

It can be done. You could Focus with Jake and get your free BR or Boost. Then, at the start of combat, you could then have Kyle assign him a focus and do a Boost/BR (whatever you didn't do during the action step). You could then PTL off that action. So it is possible to end up with two focus, have boosted & barrel rolled, and either evaded or TL'd by the time shooting started.

In a few weeks time, this sequence will be possible:

1. Jake moves, performs Evade action.
2. Kyle passes Jake a Focus, triggering his ability; he boosts.
3. This triggers Intensity; Jake is assigned another Focus.
4. This triggers his ability again; he barrel rolls.
5. This triggers Push the Limit; he target locks.

For a total of 6 actions, 5 of them done at the start of the combat phase.

Ok, I'll ask... what's the Moldy Crow title got to do with it? That only allows a HWK-290 to retain focus tokens at the end of a round. It has nothing to do with an A-wing or Jake.

Which, given he'd be at PS 7 again, will still give him a good chance of dodging arcs; and thus having a token at the end of the phase to reset Intensity.

I just read that him meaning Kyle (pilot) on his Hawk. But I can see your point in clarifying.

It almost sounded like he was trying to add the Moldy Crow title to Jake, because no one had mentioned Kyle by that stage.

Don't forget certain card abilities can interupt eachother. Jake can perform his normal action, activate Push the Limit to perform a focus action, then his card ability interrupts Push the Limit and allows him to Boost or Barrel Roll, following which Push the Limit continues to resolve and Jake receives 1 stress token.

Also remember the proper way to refer to him is "Jake from Statefarm"

I played two games with proxying the card. It's great, so much fun to play!
