Chopper Tank

By millsbr91, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've wanted to put together a somewhat competitive ghost list w/o running Kanan/Biggs or Heragator. This list aims to give Chopper up to 2 evades with Lando and Jan. The plan would be to be super aggressive with him to bump or be at range 1 with the autoblaster turret and potentially triple stress someone (bump with Chopper, double stress with Braylen).

Thoughts? Suggestions?

VCX-100: · "Chopper" (37)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Accuracy Corrector (3)
· Experimental Interface (3)
· Lando Calrissian (3)
· Jan Ors (2)
· Ghost (0)
Attack Shuttle: · "Zeb" Orrelios (18)
· Phantom (0)
ARC-170: · Braylen Stramm (25)
· R3-A2 (2)
Gunner (5)
Alliance Overhaul (0)
-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

I confess that I'm mildly skeptical of what Chopper can do in terms of blocking and keeping in range 1 if he's stuck to greens

Otherwise I did the premise

This is true. I might test it out this week and see how it plays.

I just don't think you're getting enough value out of your Jan/Lando evade stacking, considering the points cost and the self stress. Remember that a ship can only spend one evade per attack. So while you can get up to 3 evades per turn, you might not be able to use them all.

If you're looking for a semi-competitive Ghost build, a TLT really is the best place to start. If you drop the experimental interface and switch the accuracy corrector to FCS, that's 4 points to upgrade the ABT to TLT.

For crew, I would maybe go Rey+Lando if you still want to rely on your gambler's luck, though my personal favorite is Hera/Ezra but that's kind of the opposite of what you're going for.

I would also recommend finding points for an autoblaster turret on Zeb. You don't want to have to use it, but it will win you games.
