Hi everyone! Ardus has 4 wounds on his unit card. When you purchase his upgrade, Ardus Ix Erebus, it shows a defense of 3 and only 2 wounds. Do you add these wounds to Ardus's unit card or does Ardus only get 2 wounds when you give him this upgrade?

Which upgrade are you talking about? He has 2 that only he can use

It sound like you are talking about his infantry upgrade. If Tha is he case ardus cannot take that upgrade (it uses a champion slot and you can't have ardus and the upgrade ardus in the same army)

If that is the upgrade you are talking about then that upgrade is given to infantry to add ardus to the unit. His wound are lower than if you take him as a solo hero.

The upgrade card is not considered adding another unit to a different unit. What you see on the card is what you get, nothing more nothing less.

Atleast right now and probably for quite some time theres no real point in putting heroes into a tray of infantry. Its still expensive, theyre not as powerful, and you lose their army building perk. In Ardus' case, hes squishier and his troops do not get the upgrades from the next tier of trays available.

Thank you for the reply. Your first response answered the question as I didn't realize you can't use the card unless you put him in a unit.

i also agree right now there doesn't seem to be a good enough reason to put him in a unit.

4x3 reanimate with Ardus and moment of inspiration is a pretty good reason. 4 dice at 4 threat!

So looking into the upgrade "moment of inspiration", I see it comes in the Oathsworn Cavalry " box. I was under the impression that upgrade cards wouldn't be interchangeable between different factions thereby removing the need to buy a different factions box sets. Is " moment of inspiration" in a waqair box set as well? I only play Waqair and am not too thrilled to buy box sets from another faction just for cards.

Not all of the cards have been leaked for all expansions. It's probably in the Carrion Lancers Unit Expansion or Death Knights Unit Expansion. You'll get it in a Waiqar box eventually.

The French website has it leaked as being in the Carrion Lancers expansion.

There's plenty reason to use the upgrades. Unless/until accuracy becomes a heavy meta factor, the infantry unit can provide a lot of protection (for, say, Kari) for their ability, and/or leverage better than the solo hero (getting a white die on 4 threat and a bigger footprint to clone specials from).

Pardon I wasn't saying add all of ardus' stats to the tunit but you are still adding ardus the figure to the unit.
