Kylo RAC/ PS9 Maarek stele. Several options

I used to fly RAC whisper ...oh..maybe a year ago or more. These days I think there's more mileage out of a similarly costed defender than a phantom.

So, I'm thinking of running the kylo RAC.

RAC- adaptability,kylo, dauntless, gunner engine.

Maarek stele- vi, D title,tractor beam,hull.

Shoot Maarek first to tractor and blip some shields then go for the RAC crit.

I will probably try several tweaks. Maybe pulling engine and gunner and running Palp?

Swapping in the hot cop?

Lots of wiggle room to experiment. Also...yes I know that Maarek ability is overridden by the kylo condition.but wouldn't it still be valuable as an option as the game progresses to still mill crits with Marek ...perhaps on a different target?

Otherwise I'd like an expertise brath but...you know...points.

First post, been lurking for a long while. That out of the way. I have ran a similar list but opted for Vessery with Ion Cannon instead of Maarek with Tractor. It worked very well, being able to get an Ion onto something forcing it to do a 1 straight the next turn helps RAC immensely. I'm a fan of Ion though, as it's almost like you are taking a ship without special firing arcs (namely turrets) out of the fight for a turn. The list below is what I used.

RAC-Engine Upgrade, Kylo, Gunner, Tactician, A Score to Settle (it's fun to double up on RAC's ability even if it's only on the one ship)

Colonel Vessery-VI, Tie/D, Ion Cannon

I will opt to shoot Vess first when RAC has a TL up on the target to take advantage of Vessery's ability; if RAC doesn't have a TL up, I will shoot RAC first to force the defender to spend tokens making it easier for Vess to hit with Ion. I haven't actually used Rex yet as I don't think his pilot ability is worth the 2 extra points and I can give Vess the same pilot skill for 1 extra point with VI. I usually reserve my Focus for Attack or Defense so his ability wouldn't get used much if at all.
