Twitter Clan Vote

When does the poll close and how close is it. Guessing from prior comments that dragon is leading.

I am guessing these two clans fictions don't directly tie in to the current story line the same way as the other clan fictions do and that is why it doesn't matter to ffg which is previewed.

My guess is that whatever clan wins the vote will give us a couple week break before the story picks up and builds to it's climax right before gencon. I'm guessing whatever clan loses will go to the back of the line and be previewed after gencon (unless ffg revises their preview schedule).

I dont think the 'current story' has actually started yet. These are clan introduction fics. We probably got a vote because the Crab and Dragon fics are both ready.

So, as of 12:22 ET, it is 50%/50%, but there are 1033 votes. So, assuming they round up at .5%, that means the farthest away the vote could possibly be is 512 to 521.

The question is...which one has the edge?

Last I saw its deadlocked 50/50

I know what your getting at. I guess what I mean is that the first two fictions seem to follow a timeline and have interaction with other clans. It wouldn't make sense if they were mixed around and previewed in a different order. I'm assuming crab and dragon intro fictions will just focus on their respective clans (crabs focusing pn the outward threat amd dragon focusing on themselves) without connecting to the larger story of how clans are interacting.

I could see it your way too. They are just the clan fictions that are ready. It is just my hunch

It pained me, but I voted Crab. As much as I want to see what the Dragon have, I've seen less of the Crab and I'm curious about holdings.

You could be entirely correct.:D

I vote Crab! Better to see what the Keepers of the Wall are up to, rather than the esoterica of the Dragon that hardly anyone else really understands anyway, no offense.

Offense taken.

But being secluded in my monastery up in the mountains, you don't have much to worry about.

Keep an eye on ?.....

I could also see them introducing the fictions in a specific order to avoid having to do some chaotic introduction of characters. For example, I think the Lion fiction makes a lot more sense having read about Hotaru already.

But I hope i'm not.. especially if crab dont get the vote!

I am interested in the dragon preview too so I'd hope they don't get previewed last either.

It is my belief that the winner of the vote goes next, and the loser of the vote either goes after the winner or into a vote with the Phoenix or Unicorn for next.

Honestly, either way I'd be happy.

I voted for Crab because they're on my short list of who I suspect I'll enjoy, and I'd love to see the cards but the concept of Dragon is definitely interesting. How will an attachment hungry clan work? What does their Way of the Dragon attachment do? How will they make attachments viable, since so many of them fall to the discard pile with the character?

I"d like Crab next, but luckily the only clan I actually disliked isnt a clan anymore, (points and laughs) so i can be patient.

You Mantis hater!!! :D

Guilty as charged.:)

To be fair, pretty much anyone who played through Emperor edition was a Mantis hater at some point. Kalani's Landing was the most toxic stronghold in the entire game at that point. I'd be interested to hear from the people who played before me (Samurai edition was my first) about what stronghold can top Kalani's Landing in terms of pure, brutal, NPE levels of efficiency :)

I suspect it would be similar to the Tau in Conquest. Just a guess.

Khol Wall comes to mind. It gave Unicorn free flips when they flipped regions and they could burn through a dynasty deck crazy fast. It was in the same environment as Chagatai too.

One of the ratling strongholds, I think it was Warrens of the One Tribe, had some pretty environment deforming effects too.

I'm sure there were others in other arcs, but I remember those two getting a lot of hate.

These two are actually the worst strongholds I ever played. The ratling stronghold let you play with cards out of either player's discard pile. If I remember correctly, both of these strongholds were legal at the same time so you either ran one of those or just lost to them.

Hmm, which clan do we want Hotaru to usurp the fiction of this time? ;)

Anway, I'm interested in seeing more of both of these guys. I really like the whole ring mechanics of the Dragon sans the Voltron stuff in the clan, but I want to see how FFG will tackle that defensive nature in the lcg for the Crab. I'm leaning slightly towards the Dragon but an O-Ushi card would tempt me for the Crab.

I voted crab just because I think we would see a lot more new mechanics then we have with dragon. With crab we should see a lot more holding interaction as well as some way to maybe win defensively.

Yes, they came out in consecutive sets, although I want to say that Khol Wall (Web of Lies) was nerfed before Warrens of the One Tribe (Enemy of my Enemy) hit (or around the same time) so I think it was more consecutively crushing the two halves of the Kotei season, rather than ever really going head to head. But each in its time did basically say "play me or lose."

Khol Wall was a good idea with poor execution. Warrens of the One Tribe was just unsalvageably broken (and partially in an unfun way to boot) and, to my mind, is probably the worst mistake in the history of the game (within the realm of individual cards). They both ran over the tournament scene, but there's no excuse for Warrens of the One Tribe ever seeing the light of day.

My guess is that Dragon and Crab are both independent of the rest of the empire so 3 & 4, then phoenix is angry at unicorn magic so those 2 are at odds, playing off each other as 5 & 6 similar to lion/crane, and scorpion is 7th when we find out what manipulations throughout all the other plots are their doing, hopefully machinations of others they're trying to stop, and maybe a little bit of Hotaru stealing the show.

Is the Crab lady on the product page an O-ushi pic you think?

Someone asked about it and was told "No". Of course they also said Arasou was the Lion Clan Champion, so anything can happen it seems.
