Noob help building some training decks

By skeeve3000, in Star Wars: Destiny

So there is like no one in my town playing this game. I have some friends who are interested in trying it but not willing to put any money out. I didn't get to buy too m any of the first release but have bought the new expansion pretty heavy. I want to build 4 decks with what I have to teach my friends the basics of the game and hopefully get them a little bit more interested. I am looking for help with building these decks. Here is a list of the Characters that I have to use:

Villian

Elite Kylo Ren

Elite Jango

Elite Unkar Platt

Elite Aurra Sing

Jabba the Hutt

General Grievous

Darth Vader

First Order Stormtrooper X2

Director Krennic

Tie Pilot X2

FN-2199

Asajj Ventress

Guavian Enforcer

Darth Vader Dark Apprentice

Royal Guard

Death Trooper

Hero

Elite Rey

Elite Luminara Unduli

Elite Maz Kanata

Elite Mon Mothma

Finn

Admiral Ackbar

Chirrut Imwe

Outer Rim Smuggler x 2

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Rebel Commando

Snap Wexley

Interesting problem! Creating four very balanced decks from a mix of characters is always tricky. My suggestion is the following pairings:

eAurra/Jango

eKylo/FN-2199/Stormtrooper

eLuminara/eRey

eMothma/OuterRimSmuggler/OuterRimSmuggler

defitely give the Luminara/Rey deck to the least experienced player. That one is the most powerful.

I don't know what upgrades and events you have, but those four decks utilize both factions and all three colors pretty evenly, so hopefully you could build pretty solid decks around each.

Edit: deck four will not work if you don't have Second Chance, as the ORS have too low of health. You might want to consider getting a second Hero starter so that you can run eFinn/eMothma or even eFinn/eMaz. I purchased two of each starter, and it's very useful to have those extra dice, especially when building multiple decks.

Make one Hero one villain. I would limit it to one character with an ability and the rest generic so that there is not too much to remember to start.

The problem is not your characters, although you could use some more elites and a few more non-uniques. You have a good start to build 4 competitive decks character wise. The main problem is what upgrades, supports, and events do you have? Many decks use the same staples to compete. My advise would be to build a couple of your decks mono colored to cut down on that issue.

Eunkar plut/FOST/DT. Has done very well for me. Also a ton of fun to play.

That is a very fun one, one of the better mill decks (it's more present in my local meta than Vader/Kylo!)

As a new player, be warned though. Mill can be very tricky to play, as it works very differently than the style most people are used to (although, per the rules, it is a completely legitimate way to play!)

yeah, did not think of that.

Ekylo/darth Vader (sith lord). I almost won a tournament with it. Lost by being crime lorded.

Rocket,I know your pain well. For the heck of it I did a causal tournament. Needless to say, I very unprepared and lost badly. Went against 2 games with palpatine. Then discovered the pain of crime lord. Lol I'm still very very new, but some of the character combinations definitely will help do my first deck.
