I much prefer Ujimitsu to a guy who would raise a Shadowlands army and let his own son be sacrificed and descrated on a banner to a dark god, but hey, to each his own.

All (light-hearted, really!) joking aside, for me it's not that Tsukune isn't a great character but rather that I was really hoping we'd get to see Ujimitsu do stuff this time around.

I don't disagree.

Maybe we're all wrong and Ujimitsu is still champ. I'd prefer that to another dead champion in a clans first fiction.

He DOES deserve a chance to 'be a real boy' than a non- entity with a semi- decent backstoy.

We'll see where it goes.

As for the Shadowlands thing.......We all have off days.

The flavour text on the Borderlands Defender says :

I have been considering this option myself - will we certainly get every clan's champion as the first power-character? Or is it possible we'll get some champions, and some other power characters? In Scorpion clan we've got Shoju and Kachiko who immediately vye for most impactful character release. The Pheonix would be a good option to not start with their champion as well, because they do have the 5 masters that change their clan dynamics. I think it's possible we get Tsukune as a power-character, but not champion right out the gate.

While I've considered it - I think we'll just have to wait and see. There is no evidence to support this yet, it's just a possibility - and with how unceremoniously (I feel) they killed Arasou to shove Toturi into power it's very possible Ujimitsu and Tsukune will get the same treatment.

Here's hoping the Pheonix story is awesome though - ^_^,b
