According to L5R Wiki (https://l5r.gamepedia.com/Crane_Clan), we are missing Crane card #43.
Shiba Tsukune Phoenix champ? (plus some other cards)
14 minutes ago, Doji Makoto said:I like the art of Tsukune. You can see that she is holding the hilt of a sword. I also think that it is the same artist who did Hotaru and Toturi, which is neat (really looking forward to his Kachiko, she simply must be drawn by him/her).
Also, Ujimitsu will be killed by Hotaru in the first fiction, thus naming her "the Championmaker".
OR it will be revealed Tsukune and Hotaru are having a torrid love affair. thus naming her 'the Feathered ****'![]()

That would be the "?Cautious? Scout" seen in the showcase page.

Using the wiki to make my own list, the Crane are missing 37 - 39 & 43. Even allowing that 37 is another Crab holding then the Crane is still has three open slots (38, 39 & 43). The Crane have two cards that we don't know the number for yet or even if they're dynasty or conflict cards: Enlightened Monk and ? Scout (everybody assumes their dynasty cards, they could fill 137. 138 or 149 just as easily).

Ujimitsu considers the advice of the counsel. Hotaru steps out with a small contingent of Crane Archers. Hotaru looks as if she is afraid, but she is really crying... The council looks bewildered... but they are dead. Hotaru fired 2 shots, and all 5 elemental masters and Ujimitsu fell. She writes a letter to a random phoenix child... "Dear child, the blessings of the heavens fall upon you. You will soon be re-incarnated as the pheonix champion. I killed all your daddies, what will you do?"

They could not. Political Rival (or Enlightened Monk how he was called earlier) cannot be 137, 138 because his cost is 3, so he clearly follows after the Steward of Law (with cost 1). And he could not be 149, because that slot is for event (costing more than Noble Sacrifice, or the same but coming later alphabetically). So he is Conflict card 140.
Using the above information, we see that the Scout must be Dynasty card. And his number is 43 (must be between Brash Samurai and Doji Gift Giver).
Crane could theoretically have another event after Noble Sacrifice (149) or a character before Asahina Artisan (39, costing 0, or 1 but coming alphabetically before Asahina Artisan, which is kinda hard).

Following up on Makoto's comment above, the Scout is a 2 cost, which would place it squarely after Brash Samurai on the list as number 43.
Regardless, there is no spot for a second 5 coster on the Crane list.

Thank you for catching that I had left 140 off my list and didn't catch it when I made that post. Could you show me what lead you to believe Political Rival is a conflict card?

If he were to be Conflict character, his 2 fate cost would put him between Steward of Law and Political Rival. But there is only one spot left between Steward of Law (139) and Above Question (141).
And that spot must be claimed by Political Rival, because with his cost 3 he does not fit into the Dynasty cards (2-Daidoji Nerishma 46, 3-Doji Challenger 47, 3-Kakita Asami 48, 3-Kakita Kaezin 49, 4-Asahina Storyteller 50).
??This.

Thank you, I updated my list. It then brings up the question of 38 & 39: Asahina Artisan has a cost of one so will the Crane get two zero fate characters or will the Crab get four holdings?
5 hours ago, AtoMaki said:Didn't he have a rather anticlimactic end in the old canon? Like, he was set ablaze by the dying Master of Fire then fell off from a wall or something?
It might have been a retcon to make him look cooler in the end, but as I recall he wounded Tsuke (the Master of Fire) or otherwise made an opening for Isawa Tadaka to kill Tsuke, so it is supposed to be that he sacrificed himself to help bring down the corrupt Master of Fire.

Well, the Crab were mentioned as the holding Clan, with abilities that rely on having one in play. I can imagine them having 4 to pick from.

We have two very low res images for the two missing Crane Cards 43 and 140. Unfortunately the card names are hardly readable so we can't make articles for them.

Ugh, four? That seems way too many to me unless there's only 1 of each in the core to offset the problematic nature of holdings during play.
Going back to our new Unicorn, I quite like her ability to go through the potential 'trash' you can get during play. Anything can turn into a temporary buff to both skills. It's nice to see a good reuse of an ccg art, so I'd like to see a card based on Chikako or Eun-Ju.

Considering how the Phoenix have been treated in the past, you might be on to something
OR
Hotaru is having an affair with the entie elemental council. Ujimitsu commits Kanshi in embarassment.

I would love that! I think Holdings are going to be incredible in this game. You will likely never buy 4 cards in one dynasty phase so having your unbought provinces doing work outside the dynasty phase is going to be great. I do worry about what happens when you have 2 or more holdings out though haha. I doubt Crab will be running all 4 holdings if they do have them. Likely, they'd pick 2 or maybe 3 if they're really really good.
And, it also depends on how many cards interact with holdings out of the core set. The Shrewd Yasuki makes me think you're going to want a holding from turn 1 on, so you're going to want to build the deck to consistently hit a holding in just one mulligan (up to 8 cards seen).
After seeing Shiba Tsukune and assuming they won't kill two clan champions before game release, I am wondering if Shiba Ujimitsu will be a low-cost non-unique, maybe with an ability to resurrect himself or to protect other Phoenix cards. That would leave the 5-fate cost design space available for another card, like Tsukune. Remember that Ujimitsu's original card in oL5R wasn't unique either.

I like the way you think, but for various reasons I don't have my hopes up.

Your dream was to have a unpreposessing sad-clown as your clan champion, rather than the brave, intellegent and beautiful one that actually did stuff?
Unless u mean the novel version in which case it was unpreposessing sad-clown that apparently had super powers.
to each his own.![]()
Honestly, this is the first time, EVER, that a card gaming community is so intently following every single bit of newly released cards and associated information on a day by day basis. This is really interesting for me to see, to say the least. ![]()

This is old hat for us old-timers.
