I believed as challange party it is my choice of weapon, obvious I would choose side-swords, a weapon of more civilized times. Blunt obviously, we ain't barbarians yet either. ;-)

Do they pilot standard TIE Fighters?

So far from the story trailers, it looks that way.

I can't even begin to say how annoyed this would make me. There is canon precedent that the V wing is used by the Emperor's royal guard at the end of Ep3. If it goes to scum just cuz it's not a TIE. . .

Yeah, nearly 2 decades before the GCW is even a thought in anyone's brain, and a mere 2-3 years before it's completely phased out of Imperial service. For the same reason that ARCs are Rebel ships will be the same reason that V-Wings aren't Imperial.

That would be a serious blow to my Imperial happiness. Gawd, they could at least make Imperial Royal Guard for it.

I've read this thread and am surprised nobody has come up with this idea. In the next wave we're getting our first multi faction ship in the H-6. Why couldn't the ships that served on both sides be treated this way as well. Another idea I came up with is have a separate pack for each faction. Here the ships would have paint jobs representative of the faction they serve with and pilot cards for their faction. Upgrade cards would be the same for each side with possibly one or 2 different for each pack.

So, with this idea, ships like the V-Wing and ETA-2 would have a pack for both the Rebels and Imperials. And, to give the Scum a couple ships for the wave, they would get Vulture Droids and the Tri-Fighter. Not sure where the N-1 would fit in this wave though.

Multi-faction ships are how I believe scum should have always been handled. "Hires" as it were.

But I proposed the ETA-2 be an all-faction ship. Ashoka, Vader and... Iunno, somebody for Scum. Mara Jade? Hey, it could work. The V-Wing should maybe be just scum/salvaged astros, though. The Rebels don't have much use for an A/X-wing halfbreed, but admittedly the Imperials might. However that would also mean we'd need to add "Rebel only" to a LOT of astromechs, or a lot of "Imperial Only" astromechs.

Not that Imperials have distinct gimmicks anymore, lol oops.

It was noted elsewhere In this topic I think, but the Imperial use of V-Wings eventually had the custom-designed Astromech (The Q7) retrofitted out. If it was multi-faction you would probably ditch the slot for Imperials and give them a title specifically.

However, in the current canon, it looks like all V-Wing appearances post ROTJ are all Imperial, scattered about in the 5-6 years after the end of the Clone Wars to possibly later. While FFG is not necessarily bound to follow canon only ships we do not know if they can "mix" canonicity of material with ships and this probably would be a thorny issue for the licensing department which possibly could cause confusion related with the materials and the brand. The ARC-170 for instance includes only canonical pilots (even if they were not depicted as flying the ship prior). Sans astromech also, the V-Wing would very much fit into imperial small ship ethos with minimal upgrades. And maybe you could get Tarkin as a pilot (since he has actually canonically done so) which would be way more interesting than anything they shoehorn in for scum or rebels. I think it might also be an ideal pack for them to do something which might help 2 ATK ships in general with some kind of upgrade, because the V-Wing very much should be only a 2 red ship which would suit the imperial playstyle more - as much as A-Wings would also benefit.

Of course, this is all speculation - it's possible that FFG has no further plans for either ship - though personally I'd say the N-1 is a wasted opportunity due to canonical use and it having the Astromech and Torpedo slots. We do not know what FFG may do in response to this focus on ships of that type by another major star wars product and we don't really know how much they know about Battlefront II even though it's using a design FFG originated pretty front and center. It may be that this does inspire them to more ships in the vein of their ARC-170 pack but y'know it'll be in like a year and some change because they only see this kind of stuff as it happens and probably have a million other things (Or more specifically 6 more unannounced SKUs) to work on.

I would be really fine with a multi-faction V-Wing and Eta-2. The only reason i generally say V-Wings wouldn't be Imperial is assuming that only one faction could get it; If Rebels and Scum could get their own versions, then imperials could get one of their own, without astromechs of course, which would honestly be pretty fun and interesting. Same goes for Eta-2s.

Looks very good! It's very ambitious (the 3 eras in a game), but I hope it doesn't turn too shallow like the first one.

PS: At least in the trailer we don't see Rey fighting Maul in the Clone Wars (like in the alpha gameplay video). I hope the heroes of each map in the final release are specific for their eras.

Pretty sure that was just for EA play as whatever Clone Wars Era heroes they have in store were either not ready OR they wanted to showcase more well known heroes such as Boba Fett, Han Solo, Rey and Darth Maul. I think Star Wars HQ on youtube had a video asking the developers about cross era hero battles and their response made it sound like that would not NORMALLY be the case but in a Heroes vs Villains type game mode that is definitely a possibility. With three different studios working on the game and free DLC I'd say EA learned their lesson from Star Wars Battlefront 2015. Im super excited for classes! Reminds me of Battlefield 4 which was one of my all time favorite games.

How could anyone hate the prequels? I mean Episode 1 blew except for the Darth Maul duel but once clones were on the scene I instantly became cool with it because who doesn't love an army of Jango Fetts :D

...well, maybe Jedi dont...
