So the fact that there is even prequel content in the game at all, even content that you have no obligation to play whatsoever, is enough to get you to not buy it? That's petty, but i doubt they'll miss you.

I didn't say I wouldn't buy it because it might have some prequel content. They just lost my interest with the prequel footage, especially seeing Rey fighting Maul. That does not interest me at all.

What does interest me is the possible VR missions I've heard rumor of and the possible story mode. I want to hear more about them before I buy. I'm not an online gamer so I'm waiting to see what the off-line content is like and if it's better than the first one.

To those annoyed at Rey fighting Maul, may I remind you that the original BFII had a full blown heros vs. villains mode.

I can't even begin to say how annoyed this would make me. There is canon precedent that the V wing is used by the Emperor's royal guard at the end of Ep3. If it goes to scum just cuz it's not a TIE. . .

Rebels get the N-1 starfighter,

Empire gets the Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-Wing starfighter,

Scum get the Variable Geometry Self-Propelled Battle Droid, Mark I a.k.a "Vulture Droid"

...and done.

Trust me when I say it genuinely isn't worth arguing with them.

I don't mind it. I just need Battlefront II2 to be a good videogame, on par or better than Battlefront II, and better than BEAttlefront. It looks like it's definitely both of those things thus far.

Besides, there's an 80% chance they're just showcasing stuff that's done. If not, is it really so bad for the game to be anachronistic?

I honestly actually kind of like this fanfiction-like-trend where you've got things eras apart coming together in the newer star wars games. Even the galaxy of heroes mobile game does that. (from old EU and new canon alike, having Kylo Ren fight alongside Darth Nihilus is pretty wild.)

I think they said they'd have era-locked characters, once they'd made it to the full game. It's currently in alpha so the heroes they have are in all eras.

Except for the horrible CGI Tarkin and Leia, I found Rogue One one of the best SW movies (just behind TESB and ANH).

More Power to you than, I could not stand either of those two new movies, I did literally fall asleep during Rogue One and left the cinema super pissed after TFA. They were 100 times better made, infinitely more boring than the prequels to me, which is super ironic as the prequels are ... well, prequels and we already knew the grand scheme of things.

But we are getting off-topic, I believed we talked about the stuff that the prequels did right, like the V-Wing and other stuff prominently featured in TCW and CW. ;-)

I seriously want this but it will mean forking out for a new "current gen" console and i dont have that much disposable income

Scorpio looks cool with $499 price tag and the xbone is going down to $250 iirc.
Besides, the PC version for sure runs just fine on old machines too ;-)
